Wishing for and update
on January 11, 2011
Posted by: smwinn7
This phone is great I just wish it would get an OS update the reason I bought the Epic was due to the OS update being rolled out overseas to other Galaxy S phones, but here I am almost 3 months later and no update for my Epic.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, os not updated in resonable amount of time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I looked at different phones for a few months and finally settled on this one. It is well worth the price. I have enjoyed it from day one and I have enjoyed discovering new applications for it on a daily basis. The slide out keyboard is a big bonus and very helpful. The pictures on the phone are spectacular.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

User friendly but a bit too big

I love how user friendly this phone is. It gets great reception and is super fast. I love the qwerty keyboard that slides out. Makes the phone easier to text with as the touch keyboard can be a little difficult. But because of the qwerty keyboard, its a little too big. Feel like I'm holding a 1990's cell phone to my ear at times. And it's heavy.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
Cons: Too big, heavy
I would recommend this to a friend!

IM HAVING A PROBLEM PUTTING MY MUSIC FROM MEDIA PLAYER TO MY PHONE. PHONE IS NOT RECOGNIZED ON COMPUTER. IM FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW. AND BEEN ON THIS DARN COMPUTER HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS TRYING TO FIND A DARN SOLUTION
I purchased my Epic on launch day and have been impressed with the screen and overall speed of the phone. Unfortunately, the GPS does not work well and the slider mechanism is a bit lose. I had expected updates to fix the GPS issue as well as OS updates to add additional functionality that other phones have but neither have materialized. Many posts in forums said that I should expect no updates from Samsung but I assumed that Samsung would update their flagship Galaxy S line. Bad assumption on my part! Too bad...could easily rate this at 5 stars if it received OS/bug fix support.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, needs to be updated by samsung
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The SMARTEST of smart phones>>>>
on January 17, 2011

This phone does everything I imagined and even more. I couldn't ask for a better phone. I also have the HTC EVO 4G and it can't touch my new SAMSUNG EPIC 4G. Great job SAMSUNG on a perfect piece of equipment for a media freak like myself. The only flaw I see is the battery life is a bit short; there is so much to do with this phone that I can't seem to put it down except to recharge lol. It would be nice if it had Android 2.3 instead of 2.1 also.
