Really love this phone. Even though it has some run time problems ( at times , but not all the time ). Have recommended this phone to all that have asked me about it. Alot of my friends / co-workers have gone out and purchased it, because of what I have told them about the phone. Samsung Epic 4G
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, video chat, great built in apps, programs interlaced, fast cpu
Cons: freeze ups, bad drain on battery, needs bigger battery, needs better antenia
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had this since the after it's Release Date and I have to say I Love it. I Own Two Samsung Epic 4G Galaxy S Phones now... Four...which was Five Samsung Moments, an HTC Hero, Samsung Instinct and Samsung UpStage...which all played a Role in make the Epic. I can put My Epic down when I'm on it...Two of My Co-Worker have HTC Evo...and evening They Agree that the Epic is one of the Best...if not the Best Phone out Here at the Moment (Lmbo...I said, Moment...You'll get it later). The Features are Nice...You'll be using less App due to added Features, in My Opinion...the Screen is Super Bright with a Beautiful Display...You will now Truly have a Touch Screen Phone...One that is Truly knocking the iPhone Off the Market. I also played with all the Models of the iPhones and different Model of the HTC Phones...HTC may have brought Touch Screen to the Market and iPhone brought it's Fast Internet and Unlimited Apps, but Samsung and Google is Cleaning Up the Market...making the Epic 4G Galaxy S Phones...which have Apple being Question if They can Handle the Heat...HTC may be holding Strong, but only due to the HTC Evo big Screen and Camera...which the Epic make it Up with a New Full Key Broad and Slicker Screen...with a more Smoother Look, but other than that Both Phone are the Same in Built in Features...The Evo have Built-in features just for HTC and The Epic have it's Own Samsung Built-in Features....which Both can be Downloaded from the Droid Market. Me Personally just Think the Epic is a Smoother, Slicker, Faster and Fun Phone to have...Thank for Your Time.

Being a Blackberry owner for some time, found it difficult to learn the phone and software. Took a lot of time and finally getting used to it. Love the phone more and more as I use it.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: hard to transition from bb
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got the Epic at Release

I got the epic at release with Sprint because of its great stats, but now that it's been a year and a half--the phone keeps getting worse and worse. The first year it was great, but unfortunately I can't get a new phone until my 18 month mark. These last 8 months have been a nightmare. My GPS died at 12 months--just as I moved to a new city. I now have to draw maps by hand or print out google maps directions before I can go anywhere. The phone can't read battery life, so my phone dies randomly. I hang up on every other person that calls me because of battery life. Just now I hung up on the lovely lady that is doing the flowers for our wedding. A few days ago I hung up on the receptionist for my dentist appointment. I have to call them back flustered and apologize for my poor phone that is dying because of engineered failure. At first the 4g was great, but now I think it just says it's working but it's not--the 4g is slower than my friend's 3g free with contract android phone. With every patch something else breaks on it. I thought at first since the GPS went out--well at least I still have a phone, but now I can barely talk on the phone with it. I guess at least I can still text. Oh also, this phone shuts down for no reason and freezes a lot especially when using the camera--and doesn't un-freeze so you need to force it to shut down and start it back up again until you can do the thing you want with it. By then the moment is over and you've failed at taking a photo.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Too big, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Phone

I love the camera on the phone and the bright, clear screen. Yes it's huge, but not everyone wants a screen the size of an iPod Nano.
There is a design flaw in that the side buttons are on the slide out keyboard, not the screen part of the phone. This means when you press one of the buttons, the keyboard tries to slide out. I can see some unnecessary wear and tear going on there.
And the swype keyboard is cool, but it tends to use clumps of letters, not words. For the longest time every time I tried to swype 'the', I'd get 'tde' and it is determined that 'there' is 'rhett'. But it's a very cool idea.
The biggest issue is the battery life. You don't want to go anywhere without a spare charger. I'd suggest a solar charger if you're going to be away from a plug in because the battery on this thing is not made to last more than a couple of hours if you're actually using it.
The phone as a whole is excellent and as long as Samsung keeps upgrading it, I think it will last a long time and thus be work the money spent.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, excellent camera, great for social networking and texting
Cons: battery life

I have gone into detail on the forum's but I will be succinct - this phone was failed by the developer and carrier. The OTA updates of Android resulted in decreased performance, increased heat problems, and nothing less than the implosion of this phone. I had 3 phones burn up on me doing nothing more than using blue-tooth to make phone calls. The battery wouldn't hold a charge. Going from portrait to landscape could take well over 30 seconds and, sometimes, would never register. This phone worked perfectly until its OS was updated, which is unfortunate. It was a fantastic machine when it came out, but it was already behind an OS before shipping and it never recovered. A sad end to what was to have been the flagship phone of 4G.
Pros: full keyboard
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, performance issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
