When i was up for a upgrade from sprint, what sold me with this phone is the screen. Super bright, clarity is breath taking, and just jaw dropping. Very fast phone, even with android 2.1. The full qwerty keyboard is very nice to have since i prefer physical keys rather than touchscreen text input. The camera takes very nice pictures being its 5mp. This phone can do so much, im still learning things about it since getting it in september. overall, very much pleased wth it and would recommend this to anyone.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, full qwerty keyboard
Cons: Poor quality, little flimsy, still running andrioid 2.1, no hdmi output
I would recommend this to a friend!

Goodbye Blackberry, Hello Epic!!!!
on January 6, 2011

I just replaced my Blackberry with an Epic and I love it!. I love the screensize paired iwth a keyboard. The apps are so much better than those available for a blackberry. They didn't have the car mount in the store and I'm buying one from the Samsung store. The Google navigation is awesome!
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, easy to use, very readable screen
I would recommend this to a friend!

I mostly love my Epic. I like it much better than my first smartphone, but I am hoping that the mfr will improve a few things with updates. I have had the phone over 2 months so I am not writing a review after opening the package like so many do. I love the speed, picture and clarity. Mostly the phone is very intuitive or a few easy web searches answer my question. I LOVE the Hotspot which can be activated and de-activated and it worked great in the car for providing wireless for my daughter's device. But there aren't enough shortcuts on this phone. I want to be able to call my faves with one or two buttons, but i have to first unsnooze phone (ok with that), push "Phone," then "Favorites," then the name of the person,, then "call" and then choose home or mobile. Ridiculous! Other phones take 1 or 2 clicks. It should allow having a home OR mobile # saved as a favorite and favorites should be able to be on the HOME Screen. Further, the Calendar is cumbersome. While it's great to synchronize with popular web calendar (can't name here), when I need to create a new entry on my phone, I have to manually EVERY time choose that calendar over the phone calendar, i.e., cannot make the other one the default. Also, when setting an alarm (reminder) in the calendar, cannot have it default to the same alarm (e.g., one hour) every time, it has to be manually set EVERY time. So while Epic got the fancy stuff right, these very basic, time saving techniques that should have been no brainers were overlooked. Some e-mails do not enlarge and text is too small for reading (many do enlarge). There may be others that I'm not thinking of right now but these basic items BUG me for this very expensive phone. Otherwise, I love its speed, looks and abilities. Samsung, please fix the basics.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, intuitive, fast
Cons: not enough shortcuts

i love the phone but there is a big glitch in the swap in between phone lines after 2 calls while on the phone and you swap over the phone don't allow you to click back for the 3rd time i hope we can get that fixed i dont like that i have to hang up on people just to get them back on the phone
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: call waiting is bad to swap over more than twice
