possibly the worst phone i've ever owned
on September 27, 2011
Posted by: gordon77
I've had this phone since release (well, not this phone specifically as this is my 3rd model of this phone). First phone had an unknown short. 2nd phone had a slider issue. . .but all 3 phones have had horrible battery life and pathetic android update support. This will be the last "non-TV" samsung product i ever buy.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

THIS PHONE IS GREAT

I've owned this phone now for over a year and I have to say I haven't had any major issues with it like I've experienced with my previous devices. Battery life is great even after a year but can be a issue depending upon how many apps you run. I've enjoyed being a part of the Galaxy S family!!!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gets a lot of use
on October 28, 2011

If I had to give one criticism, it would be this ... I waited years to upgrade to a smart phone, so when I finally did, my new phone got a lot of use. After a few weeks of very heavy use, I started to notice a significant lag when exiting an app. and reloading the main screens. Otherwise, I love this phone! and I'm planning on upgrading to the Epic 4G Touch in the next few weeks.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: lag when loading main screen
I would recommend this to a friend!

STAY AWAY!!!!!

Pros: (1) Works when it does.
(2) Good paper weight
(3) Amoled Screen
(4) 16gb micro sd card
Cons: (1) Boot up takes a long time
(2) Expensive and no resale value
(3) Late push updates from Samsung. And each update makes the phone worse.
(4) Short battery life. Can't keep phone on for all day, battery dies in 3 hours. Phone shuts off at 35% battery level.
(5) Bulky phone because of the keyboard.
(6) Speakerphone not loud enough. After a while starts producing static sound when in use.
(7) Landscape mode does not turn off even after unchecking "Landscape Mode" button.
(8) LOTS of software issues
(9) LOTS of network issues. Dropped calls. No 4g available (in DOWNTOWN metro area!)
(10) Unlock using pattern does not work. Neither does passcode sometimes. The touchscreen is not that great.
(11) When you plug in headphones, you will hear static in the headphones.
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Too big, Did not meet expectations, poor battery life, speakerphone not loud enough, software issues with os, landscape mode does not turn off, dropped calls, static heard in headphones that come with the phon, unlock pattern and passcode are hard to enter, long time to boot up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The "Basics Guide" need to come with a magnfine glass.......
This is the worst guide for a first time user....
There is so many bells & whistles not to have a GREAT user guide or a "Video for Dummies"

Simply the Best

The Epic 4G Touch is simply the best smartphone I've used to date. With the features, performance, and design the Epic 4G Touch is now my preferred computing device. I can do everything that I need to do, except software development, without using my notebook. I hope I get ICS soon. Thank you Sammie.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, looks good
I would recommend this to a friend!
