I have had this phone for a little over a week now and so far I love it. My only gripe as of now is the lack of resolution when sending an MMS video message. I can only send a video resolution of 176/144, and it's not good at all. I love the fact that this phone has a front facing camera.
Pros: Bright display, packed with options, comfortable in hand, good qwerty keyboard
Cons: 2.1 and not 2.2, can only send 176/144 video mms messages
I would recommend this to a friend!

I don't live in an area that has 4g so I will not speak to that.
The first thing you notice about this phone is the display. Its big, bright, beautiful, and most importantly can be seen in direct sunlight.
Apps wise, it's Android! There are many more apps than I know what to do with right now.
Web browsing is fast, but need Flash support.
GPS seems ok, some apps deadlock and I have force close occasionally.
Turning on WiFi consumes battery at an insane rate, even after the DI18 9/30/10 update WiFi still eats battery amazingly fast. I try not to use WiFi unless I just need the speed.
3G is better than I had with another carrier, the speed is decent and connectivity is much better than I've experienced in the past.
I was a little concerned with the 5Mp camera, but it produces reasonably sharp images and has some nice camera controls, I especially like the panorama option, which I use much more frequently that I thought I would..
The audio quality on the phone is quite good, but noise cancellation is not as good as a Motorola phone. I don't use the phone to listen to streaming music or mp3's because there are no audio controls to adjust and the sound is very flat and lifeless.
Bluetooth sounds like I'm in a tunnel. I've tried several different earbuds but they all sound the same.
I would've like to have had a micro hdmi, but this phone pretty much has everything else.
My largest beef is with answering calls, the interface is just not intuitive. You can see what Samsung wanted to accomplish, but dragging a picture to an answer or reject area is not easy to do, especially when driving.
The phone interface is just clunky, on other phones you hit the phone icon and it displays your call log to select or a button to manually dial. On this phone it brings up a manual dial pad then you have to hit the call log. It would be much nicer to give the user a choice of how they want it to display. Android is about giving us choices and this is one where the Epic isn't so epic.
One thing I really like is Swype, I've found I can send messages faster with Swype than typing on the huge 5 row keyboard that I no longer use as a result. For that matter touchwiz is pretty decent, except where noted.
There are many things to like about it, like it is fast and the display is the best of all phones.
Overall I like my Epic, I guess with all the hype I expected a bit more. Truthfully the phone does everything I want and then some. It is too easy in today's world to get caught up in the hype.
I have my phone integrated with my work and personal email as well as my social media sites. It was all very easy to configure. Even my wife was able to configure her phone without my help. So it is very easy to use, but I'm a bit more demanding of my technology and there are a few things there that make me want a little more, so I decided to not let something like that stop me, so I started an app of my own.
I love android because of the Google integration and that aspect does not disappoint. One thing could make this phone better is Froyo 2.2 or better, which we've been hearing is coming...but I've not seen it yet.
The single thing that would keep me from buying this phone is Samsung is painfully slow updating the OS. I'm the kind of guy that likes living on the edge of the technology curve and Samsung lags just a bit.
I don't regret buying the phone, it is a good phone as phones go, but there are enough little annoyances to make you consider other options when the time comes.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, good reception, very viewable in direct sunlight, it's fast!, great social media integration, good camera and tools
Cons: battery life, the phone interface is clunky to answer a call, samsung slow to update the os, cannot remove useless apps (carrier specific)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Its a great phone, super bright and brilliant display, LOVE the keyboard, even though the spacebar is a little small. Only con is the sturdy and responsive sliding mechanism is a little shaky once its extended
Pros: Bright display, keyboard
Cons: power button placement, sliding mechanism slightly shakey

I love this phone it was perfect out the box and no root needed for the time being. :) Charger port is on top of the phone and kinda a bad thing due to if the phone dies and u want to charge and text its akward to have a cord in the way and text on the beautiful keys. Epic has a built-in power save mode which is a plus so with heavy use i got about 7 hours fully using it. The 4g on this phone is wonderful with full signal i got 8.26mbs download / 1.12mbs upload and a ping of 130 ms....tested Speed Test App. So far not many complaints.
The battery life is terrible when you are running all the fun applications. Task killer is not helping much. I do not understand what is taking so long with the 2.2 upgrade. The desktop dock is pretty much worthless without the upgrade.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

When I seen the phone for the first time I thought it was not big. I thought it was going to be perfect for everything I want to view on the phone. When I finally purchased Galaxy S I loved it the screen size the weight of the phone is just right for me as a woman. Watching movies during down time is so cool the picture is excellent. I'm still exploring with my phone some apps are so cool and convenient. I finally can use the ear piece its just my size.
