minimal to non-existent support from Samsung and Sprint

for the price and, considering I've got the phone for at least two years under the agreeement, I expect updates to my "smartphone" to be current with phones available today. I do not have 2.3 Android (Gingerbread) and it does not make sense that Samsung and Sprint not support these expensive phones for at least the time they sell the products. Not happy at all given the issues with the current Froyo update when I know some issues can be fixed with the Gingerbread version.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no update support, some issues with current software
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Phone i ever had!

has to be the absolute best phone ive ever purchased! i had everything i wanted with the touch screen and physical keyboard. the physical slide keyboard was the main feature i liked the most, the phone was overall fantastic in my eyes truly lived up to its name. i unfortunately left sprint for att to get iphone 4 and after a few short weeks imidiately regreted it 100%. now cant wait until the samsung galaxy s2 comes out for att which is in 2 short days and i feel like its xmas, recently used an upgrade to get atrix and gave iphone away and luckily for me its within the 30days and i am bringing it back for samsung s2 .... only down side is samsungs update speed. they have to be the absolute slowest company to update their phones, when i had epic i waited almost 6 months from when i got it till late march right before i got rid of it to get android 2.2 from 2.1
but phones great excited to see the new s2
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, physiscal keyboard
Cons: no decent case protection
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Functionality If the Battery Could Keep UP & There is SOME Compatibility to SYNC WITH OUTLOOK!!

This phone is a powerhouse. Unfortunately, they don't make a battery system that even comes close to its capabilities. I knew the battery was poor, BUT TO HAVE TO CHANGE IT OUT EVERY 2 HOURS?!? Why should I have to lower the screen res. or turn off functions???? The phone should have a charging system & Battery LIFE compatible to me running every powerhouse application for this phone!
What is the point of having such a GREAT Phone if I can't utilize its greatness?!?!
This along with my biggest DISAPPOINTMENT: NO GOOD APPLICATION or DESKTOP SOFTWARE TO SYNC WITH OUTLOOK!!!! IF YOU EXPECT ME TO HAVE THIS PHONE FOR BUSINESS & PLEASURE...GET WITH THE PROGRAM!! OR ELSE, I WILL BE FORCED TO GO BACK TO BLACKBERRY! I shouldn't have to have 2 phones!! One for business & 1 for pleasure.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: poor battery life, no desktop sync software, very poor battery life!

Quality, reliable phone

Just a short review. I like this phone a lot, due in part to it's design and features, but also because this phone has withstood all kinds of abuse including: dropping from 5' or less, getting wet (not dropped in water), getting thrown across my living room into the wall at least 3 times. How's that?
I am NOT happy with camera. Mine freezes frequently. Not that important for me.
Cons: Not high def, camera substandard
I would recommend this to a friend!

HATE this phone!

HATE, HATE, HATE this phone! I've had it for over 10 months...it was FANTASTIC for the first 3 or 4 until an update this past spring. Ever since the update, I haven't been able to reply to or forward work emails from it without my emails looking "wonky". My emails are so hard for people to read because
is inserted at every space & break. Imagine an email filled with:

. Argh!!! Using this phone for work was one of the main reasons I chose the Epic.
Also, the battery got the life sucked out of it after 'THE UPDATE'. I had to buy a HUGE extended life battery - or charge my phone 2 - 3 times a day (not always convenient).
The latest & greatest is that now it shuts off ALL THE TIME - FOR NO REASON. Send a text...phone shuts off...end a call...phone shuts off...leave it sitting on my desk for 10 mins...phone shuts off. No warning before it shuts off. The folks at my carrier were of NO HELP. I'm ready to throw it under a steam roller!!
I'm less than 11 months into my contract but I'm going to pay the early termination fee and get a MUCH better phone. Can't wait!!
Cons: Did not meet expectations, major issues after "update"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
