This is my first phone with a full keyboard, and I am absolutely attached to it now. The phone has great features and works very well overall. The phone freezes sometimes and parts of my keyboard went out, but it's always simple easily fixed problems.
Pros: Inexpensive, Bright display, Durable, full keyboard, great camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Epic has a battery that will not keep a charge longer than about 6 hours and thats not even useing the GPS features. If I try useing the GPS it is even shorter. I am having issues with the Charging Port. My Charger will not stay in the port on its own.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor - weak battery
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

phone is durable, sure a little big and granted its way older, however, the hardware was very advanced for its time. any issues i get with the phone are usually internal data corruption and the tech support team is very efficient in resolving those issues
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, great development options
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this phone. Thought I wouldn't loke the keyboard but I use that the most. Internet is sometimes slow but i manage. Would really love it if sprint had 4g in my area. Cant wait for my contract to expire so I can get the latest version. No match for Iphone. Love samsung phone technology.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Great Starter Smartphone!

Although now outdated since the release of the Galaxy S III and the Note II, Samsung started their success of Smartphones with this, very innovative and surprisingly easy to use phone.
The Epic was the reason I switched to a Smartphone and not a day has gone by that I don't absolutely love it. In fact, the Epic is the reason that I've upgraded to the Samsung Note 2. The quality and innovation are unbeatable.
Initially I was drawn to the fact the Epic had a full slide-out keyboard but to be honest, I use the on-screen keyboard with Swype more than I do the physical keyboard. Still, it works perfectly and the buttons are a user friendly size.
On a regular basis I use my phone to make calls, check Facebook, keep a running grocery list (via downloaded app), and frequently use the internet and Google search.
As far as call quality, the phone has never had any issues. Service is prime and voices come through clear.
I constantly check Facebook and although at times the phone can lag slightly (which may be a Facebook issue more so), it gets the job done well!
I've downloaded over 20 apps and the Epic has no issues using them or processing info.
Google search and internet access are flawless.
The Epic has been extremely durable in the 18 months I've owned it. I have never cracked the screen, even though its been dropped a few times.
Battery life has waned only a slight amount in over a year. Although I typically need to charge it by the end of my work day if I've used it frequently (as I usually do), if I'm only checking it periodically or making calls, I only charge it once overnight.
Overall, this phone is not going to include the features that a brand-new phone will but if you are looking for a basic Smartphone with a really nice slide-out keyboard, this is the one for you!
