I like the phones sliding keyboard with touch screen option. I dont like the fact that, this phone is comparable to the iphone but dont have dependable accessories to compare to the iphone, to include sharing with the galaxy tab 10.1. Oh yeah, my speakers are going out after only a year.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: Too big

Great screen, touch sensitivity is very nice, nothing to complain about. This is my second Samsung phone (1st Rogue) and they are great.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: sprint's first os update to gingerbread

Started off great, but...

Seems like something is very wrong with Samsung's update and upgrade software for their devices. I know Android OS is very complex and each manufacturer has to tweak the updates to individually suit their devices (the pitfalls of such an open platform?), but the extent to which successive updates hurt the performance of this phone are unacceptable. Lots of compatibility issues, but the final straw was, about 4 days before I finally caved and upgraded to the 4g Touch this phone would not let me make PHONE CALLS! The system would connect a call and the timer would start running, except their would be no audio! I couldn't hear nor could the caller hear me. I know this is more of an issue than connectivity, as audio could be heard when plugging in a headset, and most annoyingly the "speakerphone" button would remain grayed out, meaning there was simply no audio option coming from the phone. It was very frustrating to say the least. This was my last phone with a physical keyboard, really the main reason I was willing to make the jump to a "smart" phone, and initially I was very pleased with its performance and function and features, and it was just so darn nice looking! But problems compounded to its ultimate demise, and it is forever banished to a junk drawer as "newer" and "better" have since come to market.

Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, performance steadily declined
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When i first got the phone i wasn't to sure if i was going to keep it or not. But the more i started to browse around on it, the more i started to love it. And the reason why is because i work and go to school. And it helps me plan and stay up to date with every aspect of my life the features are wonderful the keyboard is great. Overall i love my phone.

Great phone

I have had this phone over a year now, and it still is a great phone, never thought I would go to a smart phone, but after trying this one I was hooked I am waiting to get the Epic 4 Touch.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight

From Palm to Android

I've been a Palm OS user for about 10yrs and looks like I made the right choice to go with Samsung Epic. I was apprehensive about using a touch only device so I went with the Epic 4G. Great device.
I give it a reserved 5 Stars only because it has only been about three weeks and am still learning and tweaking. But my Palm is fading into the background dust. Looking to the Epic Galaxy II when I can afford it, Thanks for the great product and innovation.
