Good design. Loud Speaker. Great display. The battery life can be a little lacking at times, but that is an issue with most phones!
I have big hands, and love the keyboard. Having 5 rows on the keyboard is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Phone, But Slow for a Techie

I'm a heavy user. Often I have to wait on the phone before I can click on a screen. The settings button on the keyboard is too close to the spacebar and period. I hit it often. With the latest Andriod update, I can't select another keyboard. I'm sure I can get an app, but I liked the Android keyboard I was using. Good size. I don't use the slide out keyboard. Pandora skips a lot. Probably because the phone is often thinking. I'd stop apps if I didn't need to be so socially connected.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: needs faster processor
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epic 4G was "okay" - not great

Overall, the phone has great hardware aside from the short battery usage (like a laptop). In general, the phone had to be charged several times throughout the day and, overall, would not last with no recharges (with any use) more than about 5-6 hrs. at a stretch unless it was "sleeping" with no usage.
The issues that I had was that Samsung does not upgrade their OSes consistent with technology. They also had consistent firmware or other problems that took an extraneous time to fix. By the time they were fixed, the phone was starting to be outdated on hardware.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, processor
Cons: poor software & upgradeability, slow low battery use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this phone worked great when I first got it. It was supplied by my employer so could not complain about price. However the policies regarding upgrades and the beta testing seem to have been tossed to the wayside with this device. corporate email integration with MS Exchange was good until the dreaded Froyo upgrade. i then had to go and buy an Email package (Touchdown, Nitro Desk,Inc.) to have anything that looked professional. Don't get me wrong TD was not the be all and end all either but it fit the bill for what i need to do. Then came the long awaited Gingerbread upgrade. To install it I had to remove Touchdown thank you very much may I have another.
The default email was no better I think they removed features to make it work. Reinstalled Touchdown and it worked better. Still not great.
Got rid of it and went to the D-710 GSii. Better but still some things missing.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I have owned several smart phones, but so far, this is my favorite. The only negative thing I have to say is that I need to purchase an extended life battery. I use this phone for so many things. Training apps, tracking GPS routes, Pandora and even phone calls - imagine that!!!
