I used to love this phone. The performance was excellent and the graphics were also very good. I've owned it for awhile now and i have several issues. The first is that it has become very slow. It also over heats occasionally and also freezes up. The battery life is less than to be desired and i expected so much more from this phone. Also, for some reason the sound wil either work or not depending on what mood it is in.
Pros: Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I find a lot of the simple functions previously found in other phones are somewhat confusing and the book does not help. Cannot find help feature on handset. It really needs to be more user friendly.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: needs to be more user friendly

I used to have a BlackBerry and was sure I wouldn't want to switch to the android frame, but I've had this Samsung Epic for almost a month now and I love it.
The Swype feature is the best thing invented. I use that all the time, except when I need to log onto an account, then the slide-out keyboard comes in handy. My only problem with the slide-out keyboard is that it's not too responsive for fast typing and will often drop a letter or two.
The download time for the apps is really fast, and the interface to figure out how the Market works is so simple.
Phone reception is pretty clear all the time, the sound is really crisp.
I love love love love love the camera, it's almost as clear and sharp as my 12 megapixel camera and it's a lot more convenient to use.
I definitely recommend this phone to anyone who's big on having fun games and such on their phone.
The only problem is that the batter life isn't really all that good, it lasts about 10 hours on a single charge, if you're not on the 4G network and you're not using it constantly. I can get up to 12 hours, while sending consistent texts. For the most part the 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi can quickly drain the battery.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: battery life

this is my first smart phone, battery life could be better. phone is awsome and easy to use and understand. would recomend it to anyone starting to use smart phones

over all this is a good phone. Voice quality is good, camera takes pretty good pictures, lots of apps available. My biggest complaint about this phone is it horrible battery life. I have a iphone as my work phone and I can go a full day on 1 charge. On this phone, If I make a couple of calls they battery is half gone. I have not been able to make it a full day with out charging. Also the charge rate is very slow. You have to make sure you close all unused apps or your phone will be dead in 2 hours.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: poor battery life, gets warm when using

Its been only 2 months. Touch screen not responding!

This phone is extremely disappointing. Since, I acquired this phone, 2 months ago; it has been a complete nuisance. The touch monitor is dreadfully sluggish in reacting to touch. Now, it’s worse and I just sent it to Samsung on the manufacture warranty. Currently, I am utilizing my previous phone which is disintegrating but operates way better than the Epic.

I will receive my third phone in the mail Saturday or Monday.
The first one had a problem with the motherboard that caused the antenna to not work properly. The second one freezes up and becomes unresponsive periodically. I am extremely unhappy with The Samsung Epic and would not buy another one.

My experiences with Samsung products have led me to have an expectation of quality and reliability this phone has not lived up to those expectations.
