Not Impressed Yet!

This phone has great features; however, I get a lot of roaming alerts. I rarely get service in my home. I wanted to get rid of my home phone to save money. Aside from that, I have no battery life. I can leave the phone on and not talk on it for hours and it will flash -- recharge battery. I've had this phone less than 1 month and I am extremely disappointed. I'm going to turn it in before my 30 days is up. I miss my old school Palm Treo!!!!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: low battery life, slow initial start up, always roaming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this phone. The only downside that I have found with this phone is the battery life. I have to keep an extra battery in my pocket at all time because the phone does not last a full day.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, fast
Cons: battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

All is good except battery life could be a lot better and the thing weighs like a small brick in your pocket.

Good but no gold star

The Galaxy S Epic is indeed a fine product. The screen appearance is awesome (now that there is an add-on Flash Player ... far too long in coming).
Battery life is short-ish, which is to be expected. That is easy to compensate for.
I do find it a little quirky. Its OS VERY OFTEN causes it to drift off to some application, even untouched sitting on my table. I often see, for example, that it invites me to use the calculator ... unbidden. Or it might pop off to the wearher channel. But the most annoying is the frequent drift to advising that I cannot access voice something or other .... when I had no interest in it anyway.
I do enjoy text messaging although I wish that at my age (70), I could induce this little Japanese instrument to provide me larger font size.
To my way of thinking, using a 4-inch screen for Internet is rather silly. But I do find it useful to set my home thermostat remotely. Browsing at random is an amusing experience.
The plethora of buttons is confusing at times and with my large fingers, sometimes a problem.
I do wonder why, with battery fully charged and in my hand, this critter decides on its own to shut down screen brightness, even though I set it fixed to brightest.
I am diasppointed with Samsung for not introducing a good device for mounting/charging in the car. I have an excellent arrangement for my regular GPS, mounted on my steering column. It would be nifty to replace that with the Galaxy Epic. But alas, one is stuck only with adbsurdly clunky generics.
On the whole, this device is a bit above adequate. I was an Internet vice-president, and apparently I have higher design standards than Samsung and Google.
Pros: Bright display, sharp screen
Cons: quirky at times maybe the "google effect"

Fast, Great design & Features...5 STARS!

I've had my new Galaxy S (Android 2.2) for 7 days now and love it. The only problem? Why didn't I switch from Blackberry long ago?! This phone is amazing! I love the feel of the keyboard. This phone is really fast and has lots of nice features. It's very intuitive. Because I'm a software power-user, I dig into every menu and sub-menu and find the capabilities and known issues before I read the manual. And I only read the manual to pick up on some tips that I might have overlooked during my exploring phase. I'm still learning the features, but from what I can tell, this phone has not been disapointing so far. LOVE IT! 5-STARS!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, intuitive features, android 2.2 = fast, configurable - customization
Cons: some programs hang, short battery life (will upgrade)
I would recommend this to a friend!
