First Android Phone

Although I have sold and owned Cell Phones since 1994, and have had several Samsung models, (most of which I never bothered to register) and owned other "smartphones", THIS is the bomb! Fast; HD clear; killer camera/camcorder; slide-out keyboard as well as 'on screen'; and powerful apps to rival ANY manufacturer out there! Some of my friends have an iPhone, and their major complaint is that my phone won't DO what theirs will, I speedily prove them wrong!
Keep it up Samsung and you've got a customer for life!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, killer appstore!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really like the phone however I wanted to use Skype. A software patch needs to be developed so the front camra will activate when skype is selected. We should be able to sect between the front or back camras.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, does not work with skype, battery should last longer
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome phone but lacking some real basic features... They need an update asap for these basic features like 'select all' in email options. Has deselect but not select lol.. Few others like that to, i will not waste time and post here.. I'll send them feedback on it instead but over all pretty bad (awesome) phone.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, missing some basic features that should be there
I would recommend this to a friend!

Without a doubt this is the most feature laden, fastest phone I've ever owned. After years of Blackberry use I'm amazed at the sheer speed of the device. I do miss the forced e-mail of my Yahoo and AOL accounts, but gmail and other Google stuff integrates beautifully. I'm fortunate enough to live and work in areas where 4G is available and I'm blown away by the speed.
Unfortunately there's no free lunch. Battery life is terrible especially compared with the Blackberry Tour I was coming from. This is the first pone I've ever owned where I'm going to have to buy and carry a charged spare with me. For now it is always plugged in when I'm driving or sitting at my desk.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: poor battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

GPS Fail

I have had Samsung phones as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed the quality, performance, design and value of the phones. However, the Samsung Epic 4G is very disappointing. I already knew that 4G drains battery like crazy, and that is an issue with the service provider and coverage, but the GPS does not work well. It always seems to have issues finding a GPS signal, even when having GPS and WiFi enabled. My last phone, the Moment, worked fine for my area. I live in a major city metroplex, so it is not a coverage issue. I also seem to have the data network mode randomly turn off. I will boot time is much faster on this phone, and the charging seems smart about telling me to disconnect the phone. Only reason I have this phone is my last phone had the battery overheat and melt on the charger.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
