All the major accomplishments outweight one major flaw

I have had the Samsung Epic 4G for about a week now, and I love it. I was torn between this phone and the HTC Evo. Without going into too much detail, I actually was able to get my hands on both and test them out, back to back. Basically, the only thing that is better about the Evo is a noticeably bigger and brighter screen. In my opinion, if all you are looking for is the biggest screen, then you should go buy a tablet. If QUALITY is what you are looking for, then the Epic's display pretty clearly delivers over that of the Evo. Because of the differing technologies, it is simply impossible for the Evo to ever show the richness of color depth that the Epic does. Playing identical videos on both phones, the Evo looks washed out and honestly of poor quality by comparison.
Anyway, the Epic's display does have a downfall, which is actually the biggest downfall of the phone; it is very dull in sunlight...and I mean annoyingly so. Whether direct sunlight or in my car on a sunny day, the display is moderately difficult to make out on the brightest setting the phone has to offer. I know this is not a problem with the display technology (super AMOLED), because my old phone, a Palm Pre, uses the same technology, and I never had this issue unless the brightness was turned down too far.
Other than the display subject, there isn't much to say that isn't simple and positive. The phone seems sturdy, and it has a beautiful design. It's the only phone I've ever considered not putting a case on, just because it looks so good. Speed, intuitiveness of operating system, whatever else you can think of is basically on par with the top of the industry. The only last negative thing I can think of is it is apparently not compatible with the Motospeak application, for use with Motorola bluetooth headsets, which allows you to receive and respond to text messages using nothing but your headset. I don't know if that was a choice that Samsung made or a choice that Motorola made, but apparently one of them does not like the other very much, and I'm pretty disappointed.
Pros: Realistic color
Cons: maximum display brightness too low
I would recommend this to a friend!

Really like this phone but I use if for business and this still files everything thru Google. For some reason Google has not figured out a way to file contacts by business name, title or any other name other than first or last name. Not a deal breaker but more of an annoyance.
I have had this phone one week and it is great! I am still learning all about it. The main issue thus far is the battery life. I have not figured out how to get the most out of it yet. Droids are reported to have better battery life but my blackberry required less charging than this phone and I have not even started the social networking yet. The other issue is that as I try to group my contacts, not all the contacts pull up for the grouping feature. I am sure I am just missing something. Reception has been fine.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: no calendar color options, battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

I havent even wanted a TAB yet either :) this is a keeper
I was excited to get this phone. The screen was amazing to view. Amazing processor speed, cool apps, and I bought this phone almost exclusively for the slide out keyboard. That's the good. Maybe someone can answer this question for me. Why can't I see the date when I first turn on the phone? The screen where you slde to unlock it. Is my phone defective? Am I doing something wrong, or is it a lack of attention to detail by the manufacturer? Yes it is an extremely minor problem. But one that I didn't expect out of a "quality" product. Now for a little bigger problem, why can't we get the 2.2 android update? The 2.2 is way better than the 2.1. Why? If they fixed these hang ups that I have, this phone would go from good to GREAT!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, slide out keboard
