It was at first a tough choice to go with the less expensive but more proven Evo, or take a chance and go with the Epic. Clearly I made the right choice. The slide out keyboard was a factor, but more so the display and the rave reviews it was getting. Now, the only thing I DISLIKE about the phone is the slide out keyboard. With swipe on the touch keyboard, why would you need it? It makes the Epic feel a little clunky in the hands. Great phone, disappointed Samsung and Sprint were not able to release the froyo 2.2 OS without so many problems and performance issues. i will stick with 2.1 until I hear better things about the update. Still, Epic 4G was the superior choice!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, cameras and features
Cons: Too big, slide out keyboard extra bulk, old operating system!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this phone. What I don't love, which isn't anything new with a droid, is the battery life. I have a charger by my bed, in the family room, in my car, and one in my office at work. I also have a backup battery that I threw in my purse...just in case. But - I use my phone for just about EVERYTHING & I've VERY cell phone dependent. I highly recommend this phone!
I really love my phone but am very disappointed that there is no spell check for emailing. I do most of my communicating by email and there is no way to check it.
Of all the postings, I have read the most important one that I must have overlooked was the EPIC's lack of a suitable sync for MS Outlook Contacts and calendar! I have also read about the bulkiness of the phone that I found to be quite comfortable for the package contents. An unfortunate design choice was the placement of the power cord on the TOP of the phone making it difficult to use while plugged in unless you are accustomed to cords feeling as though they are sticking from the top of your head. If I can get the sync problem resolved I may keep the phone, I doubt however that a remedy is close to fruition as people have complained about this problem during my research for a year to date.
