Major Design Flaws

I really wanted to love the Shark Power Detect vac. The auto-empty base was my favorite feature, the suction was great, and mine didn't die after 30 minutes like some other reviewers experienced. Unfortunately, it developed multiple issues that made it unusable. The roller brush will not stay securely in place and repeatedly falls out while vacuuming. Then the dust-bin door began sticking, preventing the vacuum from emptying the dirt and debris into the auto-empty base. That completely defeats the purpose of one of the vacuum's best features and leaves you dealing with the gross mess yourself. When it works, this is a great vacuum, but these are unacceptable design and durability problems for something at this price. I would not recommend.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the auto empty

I run a dog rescue, I wish companies would use us to test their products as I go through vacuums like eggs. I currently have 5 in my house! I vacuum 3-5 times a day. I hate the price of this vacuum but it works. I have the same in corded and really don’t
Like it. The dirt cup fills so fast seems I spend as much time emptying as vacuuming. I love this one empties into a reservoir and cuts down the time I waste emptying several times a day. The vacuum has good suction so far. Hope it lasts. So far so good!

Great suction

The suction is amazing, run time is great, have not run out of battery yet while vacuuming our office. Love the auto empty function. It is a bit louder than I thought it should be, it almost sounds like a chainsaw, not that loud, but that type of sound.

We had an older model of this vacuum and it stopped running after less than a year. We contacted aupport and they sent us at no charge the newest model and it works SO MUCH BETTER. We have cats and it picks up litter effortlessly where the older model did not. Can't say enough how much we love this vacuum and appreciate that Shark stands behind their products to the extent they would not just replace but upgrade when we had an issue.

The charging does not last that long on the unit, run time
Approximately 25/30 mins tops. The hair or debris get caught in the rollers and collects a firm line of hair which has to be cleaned out constantly causing loss of suction. Doesn’t do well on area rugs. I’ve cleaned out the canister as directed and hard to put back together .without breaking a little hook piece, be careful. I like that I don’t have have to empty it but I would trade everything for. More suction less small and longer running time. Does not cover 1500 sq ft.
