I’m pleased with most of the features. I really like the self cleaning feature. I’m still disappointed in the power on bare floors. It seems that the suction isn’t strong enough. Perhaps it might be “operator error!”

Love this. Just as good if not better than my Dyson. Didn’t realize I needed the dirt emptying system but I love it!

Good vacuum!

The vacuum is great except, when you separate the top and use it, the top part doesn’t stay on if you try to get cobwebs with it. It stops working. But, other than that, it works very well!

Does not work on carpet or large rugs

I received this item in August. I have to say, I do love it for our hardwood floors. However, does anyone know the trick for it to work on a carpeted area or large area rug?!? It is crazy, I have to get our our old vacuum to clean these area's and I shouldn't have to do that considering this one is supposed to work on any surface and the price isn't real cheap. Please help! I have tried everything and nothing works.

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Cordless PowerDetect. We’re so glad to hear it’s working well on your hardwood floors—but we’re sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having with carpeted areas and rugs.
The PowerDetect is designed to adapt across multiple surfaces, so it’s concerning that it’s not performing as expected on carpet. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’d love the opportunity to help troubleshoot and ensure you’re getting the most out of your vacuum.
Please reach out to our Customer Service team at 1-855-427-5127, and we’ll walk you through some tips that may improve performance on carpeted surfaces. We’re here to help!
Thank you again for being a Shark customer and for giving us the chance to make this right.
Warm regards,
Shark Clean US

I bought the cordless PowerDetect just a few weeks ago. I do like the concept of no cord but unfortunately the battery does not last long enough to vacuum my home. So I still need to vacuum with my corded vacuum too. I sure wish that Shark would include the second battery - which would certainly be helpful in keeping my floors clean. I like the clean/empty feature too. I empty it after each use even though you dont have to.
