I love the flip phone is back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love being able to answer calls by flipping phone open. The new AI features are much appreciated and helpful in many ways. I like the quick search aspect of the AI system by merely circling object or text to be searched. I've had no problems with flip 5 and plan on staying with flip on future.

Flip phones are back!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the ZFlip 5 about 2 months ago as of writing as a splurge before going back to college, the flip phone is definitely back.
The design is slick, fits well in the palm of your hand, has some heft to it too. It feels premium.
The outer screen is a idea that gravitated me to this phone series back when it came out. It reminded me of flip phones I saw growing up, it's as if they grew up too and gained more function. Being able to text, read messages, makr calls, and check weather and customize it with a gif is great. You do need a app to use other apps on it though but, it's quick workaround. Inner screen is just like a regular bar phone, the fold is barely visible.
I have yet to test the Galaxy AI features. But the conversation mode was a selling point for me. Seems like a must have when potentially dealing with non-native English speakers who may be more comfortable speaking in thier native languages in a college environment.
For the basics, the UI is fast, and charges with a 45w wall charger from 15% to 80% in roughly 45 minutes. Call quality is great. Transfer of data was pretty seamless. Camera is pretty good. Made taking pics of my camera shy dog easier. Recording for long durations is comfortable if you hold it like a old handheld video camera sideways and folded using the inner screen as a viewfinder.
