Never heard of this product until I happened on it at my local Publix Supermarket. I looked it over and then later while deciding to bake a fruitcake and store it with rum over a long period of time, I went back and purchased this particular size. Presently the Fruitcake has been in storage in the refrigerator, wrapped in cheesecloth, and weekly I add a little rum to the cheesecloth. My plans are to keep this going until next Christmas, then take the cake and serve it. I would not have been able to have had such a tight seal, both air and water tight, with any other brand of storage container. I am using the lid as a base for the cake, similar to a cake plate, and the bowl as a lid for the "cake plate". Best storage container I have ever used and I am pleased with how well this product seals and does what the manufacturer says it will do. I plan on buying more of this brand in different sizes. Cake still looking good even after two months storage in this container.
I bought these bowls and I absolutely love them. I put all my ingredients for mac n cheese or salad or whatever needs mixing and lock the lid and shake. I use the large bowl for a cake plate I place the cake on the lid and use the bowl as the cover. I am in the process of replacing all of my name brand bowls with these bowls. Best Kitchen Bowls Ever !
I love using this a salad bowl/pasta salad bowl.. My family owns land on a lake without a house so we pack up our food in coolers and this keeps it from spilling.. I need to get more now.
The first time I got one of these containers, I didn't think I would like the snaps on the sides of the lids. Well, low and behold, I am now a believer. I love these containers.
This large bowl holds a LOT of food. I use it to hold food that I cook to mix with our dog's food. I have other sizes that I use for our people food. Here's a little secret I've learned... if you put the food in the bowl and put the lid on it while the food is still warm (not hot, but warm) and then put it in the refrigerator, the bowl will vacuum seal itself. I want to use this trick for freezing things whenever I get a chance to buy more of these containers in smaller sizes.
I've microwaved tomato products in these bowls without them coming out with the famous tomato stain. (If you microwave it to death with tomato sauce in it, it might pick up the ring, but just for normal food warming, it's not a problem.) These containers wash easily by hand and stack well in the cabinets.
The shapes of the lids make stacking them in the fridge or freezer easy without worry of one sliding off the other. The locking lid tabs have been sturdy so far (almost two years). They seal tightly, so if you do tip a bowl, it won't leak and the lid won't pop off. (I've even dropped a full one and the lid stayed on tight and there was no damage to the bowl.)
I have one of their taller rectangle containers that I use to put lunch meat and cheeses in to keep them dry when we use a cooler with ice.
