Freeze your wedding cake for your anniversary!!!

Bought this to freeze my wedding cake top so we could eat it on our one year anniversary. Didn't wrap in it plastic or foil. Just put it in the container and in the freezer. Defrosted it for our anniversary and the cake tasted like it did one year ago. Not a spot of freezer burn either. My husband was surprised as well as everyone I have told. I was quite surprised as well. Very happy.

Sterilite ultra seal 8.1 Quart Container

I have 4 of these. I often take salad and other foods in my car to work or to other locations for serving. These containers work so well. A bonus use has been for carrying homemade cakes. Cake carriers often do not seal well for travel. I flip this container upside down and put my cake on a plate on the lid and use the bowl part as a dome. The container seals well to keep out air which dries up the baked good. But a standard plate fits well inside and doesn't slide around enough to let the cake get ruined.

Bowl rim not stiff enough

This product is good, but, when holding the product on the side, with the lid on, it will leak. Pressure being applied to the side walking or shaking the contents, the contents will leak out at the round edges of the bowl part of the container. I perceptive that the edge of the bowl part is not thick enough to withstand the squeezing and flexing causes the liquids to come out. The lid is fine, maybe the latches need to be wider or make the bowl rim thicker is my suggestion.

Love These Bowls!

My husband cuts up a watermelon nearly every week throughout the summer. He then stores the watermelon in the fridge with a wet paper towel over it. The largest bowl in the set has saved my fridge from watermelon spills and what-not and has saved the watermelon from drying out, getting funky, etc.
The latches hold everything in, no worries of spills! The sizes are perfect for storing different sized fruit and vegetables. I use them for more than that, but right now, in the peak of fresh fruit/veggies season, this is where we are at.
LOVE THESE BOWLS!!!

Great Set of Sealing Bowls

I've long been a fan of the UltraSeal containers and when I had an opportunity to get a set of these bowls, I did so, one of each size offered.
I've spent some time washing, using, and storing them to see how they'd fit in my relatively packed kitchen. I love them!
Whether preparing soups, stews, or salads in advance of the evening meal, these do a great job for a few of us up to a mob depending on how many are expected that evening. I haven't tried them in the freezer, but I don't expect they'd give difficulty as I use the 4 and 5.7 cup rectangles in the freezer to store meals for 2-3 such as curries, stews, and soups.

LOVE These!

I have these in a three-piece set (or I bought three of them and think they came as a set). I LOVE THEM. We use them at the cottage to store paper plates and paper bowls. The dinner plates fit in the largest size, luncheon plates in the middle size; and bowls in the smallest size. This keeps the plates dry (humidity can ruin paper plates) and critter-free. I plan to buy more to use for food storage and serving. Sterilite keep up the good work and keep making products in the USA!

I love this container and use it for all types of storage especially salads. I mix up a salad kit and add chicken or tuna and cheese and nuts and this container keeps it in great shape for weeks as I eat it every few days for dinner.

Now I'm a Believer

The first time I got one of these containers, I didn't think I would like the snaps on the sides of the lids. Well, low and behold, I am now a believer. I love these containers.
This large bowl holds a LOT of food. I use it to hold food that I cook to mix with our dog's food. I have other sizes that I use for our people food. Here's a little secret I've learned... if you put the food in the bowl and put the lid on it while the food is still warm (not hot, but warm) and then put it in the refrigerator, the bowl will vacuum seal itself. I want to use this trick for freezing things whenever I get a chance to buy more of these containers in smaller sizes.
I've microwaved tomato products in these bowls without them coming out with the famous tomato stain. (If you microwave it to death with tomato sauce in it, it might pick up the ring, but just for normal food warming, it's not a problem.) These containers wash easily by hand and stack well in the cabinets.
The shapes of the lids make stacking them in the fridge or freezer easy without worry of one sliding off the other. The locking lid tabs have been sturdy so far (almost two years). They seal tightly, so if you do tip a bowl, it won't leak and the lid won't pop off. (I've even dropped a full one and the lid stayed on tight and there was no damage to the bowl.)
I have one of their taller rectangle containers that I use to put lunch meat and cheeses in to keep them dry when we use a cooler with ice.
I highly recommend these products!
