This thermostat wants to think for me, rather than do what I try to program in. Tech support was helpful though.

Can't set date and time

This was installed by a professional and I cannot change the date/time. From searching the web this appears to be a common problem for others. Following the instructions and tapping the current time does not work. There is also no Date/Time option in the menu.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1. Select menu.
2. Arrow down to time and date and select.
3. Select time.
4. Adjust the setting and press done to save.

Honeywell is the best period

I am a 39 veteran of the HVAC industry. I can tell you from extensive experience that the Honeywell line of thermostats are the best on the market. I have tried other brands and most of them are junk. Some are so over engineered that the customer can’t use them or program them properly. Even worse, they are overpriced on top of that. I have had 2 of these VisionPro 8000 thermostats on the wall in my home since they were introduced to the market in 2004. Do the math, that’s a long time. I find that the biggest problem with a lot of ( smart ) or programmable thermostat is user or installation error. Not product error. I recommend to customers it is better to stay basic and do the homework. I.e. read the owners manual. Honeywell has been making thermostats since 1906. They have it figured out.

I love the programming options

I bought this T-stat to replace a identical model that got damaged by a grandchild. I am disappointed that after 15 months, referencing both a mercury, and alcohol bulb thermometers, the 8320R1003 is reading 2° too warm, and no apparent means to calibrate it.

Memory Error message issue

I changed the 4 AA batteries and the coin 2032 battery after receiving the Memory Error message. Several days later I’m receiving the same error message. Need assistance…. Any suggestions besides buying a new T-Stat. The unit is about 6 years old.
