Pin straight fine hair girls

I feel as though the majority of women who make videos or write reviews have thicker, wavier hair already when buying this. I didn’t have either of those things.
I will say, if your hair doesn’t hold a curl like mine, you just have to put in some extra work. As far as ease of use, LOVE IT. I’ve never been able to style my hair on my own until the new Dyson airwrap. It’s not loud at all (nor does it sound like a dentist drill like I thought it would)
The extra work you have to put in… definitely put in moose and extra products to make it work. THEN after each curl you’re going to have to pin curl your hair and let it SET. The first time I did it, I let the pin curls sit in for 6 hours. My curls lasted 8 hours and became beautiful waves and my hair still had some shape by the text day. The second time I let them sit for 2 hours and they fell out relatively quickly but again, still looked like my hair was done by a stylist so I wasn’t mad at all. If you don’t mind putting in the extra work, you’ll love it.

I thought it would be better

I have held off on buying an Airwrap for years. First because of the price point, then because it was unavailable for so long. I finally decided to buy the newer model when available because Dyson changed a few things I read complaints about, including longer barrels and multi-directional airflow (no more changing wands when you switch sides).
I was, at first, really pleased with the styler. The machine is very quiet, easy to use, and much healthier for use on long hair if you use higher-heat irons. However, I noticed a learning curve in using the attachments.
I have been a hairdresser for over 20 years and am willing to learn new technology, but I cannot get the styler to hold a curl in my hair for more than a few minutes. I have tried it on other people and found that if your hair has texture or is medium to short in length, I can get it to work great! My hair is long, straight, and has a medium thickness. Unfortunately, the Airwrap just is not made for me. I plan to keep trying because I've only had it for two weeks, but I am unimpressed so far.

Loving the results!

I recently purchased the Dyson Airwrap and I am loving it for my hair care routine!
So far the brushes are my favs. They glide through my hair effortlessly, detangling and smoothing it. Plus I save a lot of time every morning while it shapes and dryes at the same time.

Already my hair is noticeably softer and healthier without the heat tools I used to use. It's hard to learn how to do it but watch the video tutorials and it helps. Only downside is if you have any wrist pain the tool is heavy to use.

I purchased the Dyson Airwrap when it first came out several years ago. I gave mine away because it was a pain to use for curls. This new one is a game changer. I am keeping this one and buying another as a gift to my daughter. Way to improve Dyson!

Curls Don't Last
on December 14, 2022
Posted by: Trusa
It took so long to style my thick hair, but somehow I made it. I was excited and threw away the package and box. But all curls are gone the next morning, and I contacted the support to ask how to return the item w/o the package - and the website and the AI robot for the chat and call center just forwarding my request around and nobody has reached me back. I will take the product to the store... Too bad it didn't work for my thick hair. I love their vacuum cleaner and regular hairdryer though.

Hi, this is Summer with Dyson. We're so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied the next day after using the Dyson Airwrap. The styler is intended to be used for the same day as needed. When you do go to sleep, there are many factors that will come in to play that will cause the curls to drop. For thicker hair, we do advise that you take smaller sections of your hair to curl. Because the curls lasted the entire day, it is working as intended. For further assistance, please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com.

Overall upgrade with a major packaging downgrade.
on November 27, 2022

First of all, I bought this Dyson with my own money and received no compensation for this review. This is my genuine thoughts, opinions, and experience with the upgraded device.
So I've had the gen 1 Airwrap for about two years and used it and loved it so I have experience with the Airwrap. Honestly, the swapping for curling wasn't a huge thing for me but I thought it might be nice to save a little time. Here's a comprehensive review and comparison for any on the fence to upgrade.
Packaging:
LOVE the color of the new one, it's vibrant and great. The nesting lid on the bottom is a nice touch, though I prefer the flip top magnetic lid from Gen 1 still. My main complaint and the reason for the 4 stars is the interior of the case is CHEAP now. Gen 1 had a nice, felt lined interior and the dividers were sturdy. This new one has some black cardboard. The tray that holds the Airwrap base is the cardboard material too. It just really screams cheap, and it's so disappointing because the last one was so nice. The felt material in gen 1 did get some scratches, but it wasn't too noticeable and I much prefer it to this. I tried to just swap all the components to my old case because I truly loathe the inside of this one but they don't fit as comfortably. Speaking of not fitting -- I really don't like having to stack my curling rods sideways next to and on top of other attachments. The layout leaves much to be desired and the build quality of the interior is poor especially for a luxury item. You're paying a premium, and the inside felt anything but premium.
The travel pouch is incredibly nice in both style and apparent substance, though I haven't used it yet so can't review that fully.
The Airwrap & Attachments:
So if you've used the Gen 1 the base is functionally the same. I don't notice any difference in the heating/cooling times.
The attachments are where it gets tricky. If you're used to swapping barrels it's going to take some time to adjust to turning the cool touch knob. I'm going on 2 weeks and I still catch myself trying to pop the attachment off. Figuring out which direction it's curling now is a little bit harder for my brain to wrap around but nothing major. I primarily use the curling barrels but I did test all the attachments before writing the review. The flat brushes and round brush are functionally the same/similar though I do feel like the flat brushes seemed to direct the air for less flyaways than gen 1. The smoothing/flyaways attachment is very confusing with the different knobs/settings, I've read about it and watched some videos and still struggle. The one I have for my hairdryer works perfectly and is comparatively simple. But if you don't have a Dyson hairdryer and wanted this to be an all-in-one alternative, you'll definitely want to take some time learning this attachment because when it works it is great!
I also miss my 0.8 inch curling attachment, I realize you can purchase this separately but I haven't seen it available in this LE rose gold color which is really disappointing because I do like my sets to match so I hope Dyson does consider releasing the narrower barrel in this color soon.
Overall, I’d recommend the new Dyson (or the upgrade set if you want to keep your nicer case!) but it’s hard to overlook how the interior of this new model really suffered a quality downgrade.

What we can do with stains?
on November 16, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hello!
Hello! Can I ask you please, how to remove the stains from the new dyson airwrap, colour vinca blue and rose? I have some stains on one of the attachments and it is very upsetting that on this colour remain stains.
Thank you in advance!

Hello Chelsea, this is Kelly with Dyson. You may notice some staining on the finish of your Vinca Blue Airwrap - this is called by the lubricant oil in the manufacturing process. This oil is used to ensure that seals are seated correctly. You can remove these with a rubber eraser of you can also use pre-packaged 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes to remove that stain. If we can help with anything else, please get in touch with us at askdysonUS@dyson.com.
