The CanoScan Lide 400 scanner is a great value (money-wise) as well as delivering a quality and clear result every single time. This scanner has the ability to option multiple pages; gives clear and concise prompts on how to do so. There are no codes to input or complicated instructions; simply load the scans facing down with the top of the scan toward the front of the scanner instead of the back of the scanner. Easy-peasy. Thanks for the easiest scanner I have ever encountered.
Works fine, only about 4x faster than my 15 year old scanner

Works fine, only about 4x faster than my LiDE 25 that was made 15 years ago. The technology only progresses at this rate? Had to upgrade because software has been discontinued for the old scanner. If the software wasn't discontinued I wouldn't have upgraded. So you win, Canon.
i choose it at it is small and ligth. but the resuls of the softwre is poor. i planned to use it for pictures but a digital camera scan software has better result. so what is the sense to buy it????. perating is w10.
I've set this up on two different computers and it does not work. It satisfactorily finishes installation, but when I try to do a test scan (less than one minute later), nothing happens except the message that tells me it can't connect to the scanner.
Linux support is minimal and had to hack around greatly to compile it. Proprietry libs required even in the source code version. Used Ubuntu 18.04LTS. Works. No options beyond "scan size" being A4/Letter to Jpeg or PDF. No options for resolution. Scan button. Scan quality is fine, but expect a troublesome utility that when it does work, you'll be editing in Gimp or so to turn it into something useful.
I bought this scanner because it has a linux driver. Unfortunately, the software that is provided for linux is rudimentary and does not meet the needs for basic office use.
Is everything advertised and more. Easy to use and travel well. Works well with both my laptop and tablet. Would love to have a Type c converter for the Type A connector
