Tray won’t stay up.

I purchased this laminator a few months ago. After the second use the feeding tray would not stay up and the items being laminated were coming through crooked.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Broken easily, but does laminate

I have used this laminator in a pre-school setting, so I got one for myself. As lamination goes, it suits my needs, however the feeding tray did not hold up. I have laminated very few things around the house, I always pack the machine back in its factory box with factory packing. To say I am careful with my belongings would be an understatement...and yet, the tiny plastic tab that holds the entirety of the feeding mechanism broke anyway. This is a very serious design flaw, and at the very least I should be able to come to the website and order a replacement part as this is a known failure point. I would have given the product 5 stars had 1) the part not broken or 2) an affordable replacement part was easily orderable from your website. As neither of those 2 options were available-I'm holding at 3 stars.

Great Product For Everyday Use

We received this from Scotch to try and love it at our school. It is a great item for us, as we don't need to laminate all the time, but it really comes in handy for those things that really benefit from it! Like signs and such that get wrinkled and rolled at the edges from frequent use. Easy to use and affordable enough that we don't have to second guess using it whenever we think it might be helpful.

I have used mine for so many things. My son's soccer teams player cards. My daughter's girl scout troop cookie booth. I works great and very easy to use. Much lighter than some other brands. Showed my husband how to do and now he doesn't need me to do it for him.

Size and Portability

I am a very busy Preschool Teacher in the search for tools that are helpful, easy to set up and portable. When I finally came across the Scotch Thermal Laminator 9" as soon as I lifted from the store's shelf I knew I had found the one. It might sound overly dramatic for you but fellow teachers all ages can understand the need for products that are 100% satisfactory and in my case easy to travel with. Now I can start a project at home for my class (tracing practice, dry-erase boards, name cards, etc your creativity is the limit) and take it the next morning with me. I love how light this is! the only thing I wish to make this laminator even better is that it could be able to laminate up to 12" wide but you know... only a dream for know.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this product to laminate items for my tutoring business. I will be returning it. Although the end result was good, the feeder tray was not long enough to position the document without it sliding around before it was gripped by the rollers. The tray folded into the back of the machine for storage. The storage concept was good; however, the tray was flimsy and difficult to reposition. I question the longevity of the tray. Therefore, I am returning the laminator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect for a while

I bought this to use in my classroom and I was very pleased with the work it did. About 5 months into school it just stopped heating. It turns on and works but never heats up. A disappointment for sure.
