Like the ice!

Like the look, easy set up. Made ice quickly. I'd like to be able to schedule the icemaker through my WIFI, but the app does not find the icemaker.

Best ice ever

I've only had my Opal a couple of weeks but so far we love it! It makes the best ice for any occasion. It's on the expensive side but I would recommend it to family & friends. The kids love watching it make ice & want to eat it as soon as it hits the holding drawer.

Stopped Working after 1 DAY

This was our second unit because we returned the first one because it stopped making ice. I was extremely impressed and excited about this machine but after we brought home our 2nd new machine it started making a loud noise and stopped working on the SECOND day! This is poorly designed or has some quality issues. Going to save my money and just use my fridges ice maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Some people might say having your own crushed ice maker makes you a little bougie and truth be told, they’re probably right. However upon being presented one for my birthday, I realized how insanely practical this fine little shiny machine of unbridled joy actually is. You see, now I am no longer held hostage by the evil little nugget ice bagging billionaires & globalist QSR cuck shills of Sonic Corp/Inspire Brands & THAT is the gift that (literally) keeps on giving. So, if that’s bougie and being bougie is wrong, I aint even ever tryna be no amount of right! #IceIceBougieBaby

Will never buy again

Don’t like it. You can’t leave the ice in the opal longer then 5/10 minutes after it’s done making ice or it will melt fast. The app for the opal doesn’t work half the time. I loved the fact that you could control the opal from ur phone like turning it on/off lighting etc until I found out the app isn’t working most of the time. It starts producing ice around tge 20 minute mark but the first 3 or 4 times it dumps ice it’s basically water so in reality it doesn’t start producing ice until somewhere around tge 49 minute mark.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the nuggets, maintenance is a bit more than e

We are loving the chewy ice. We live in a city with hard water so we have tried to use purified or distilled water whenever possible to minimize the frequency of cleanings which can be once every week or more depending upon how much we use it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's so great to hear that you and your family are loving the chewy ice that this Opal makes! You're smart to use purified and distilled water whenever you can - we definitely recommend only using distilled water in your Opal, if possible.

Makes Ice, as it should. However, it whines and squeals the whole time it making the ice. It may have been created to make ice, but it obviously would rather be doing something else with its life.

Hello - Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We love that your ice maker is producing great nugget ice for your home. However, we're sorry to hear it is squealing every time it is making ice. We understand that would be bothersome and would love to help you have a better experience!

When the Opal needs defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic. More frequent squeaking usually requires a white vinegar cleaning to remove internal mineral scale buildup.
