Lovely product. When it works.

It’s lovely. When it works. I owned this beauty of a machine for a week before the trouble started. “ADD WATER” appeared when the ice maker had plenty of water. Sometimes I could reset the message and restart the ice-making stage by opening and closing the ice bin, power cycling the machine using the power button or unplugging it and plugging it back in, running a cleaning cycle, and cleaning the sensors. it was inconsistent on what would make it work again. It even turned off (shown on the app and ice was melting) but all indicator lights on the front unit remained lit. I want to say more but apparently reviews are moderated and some comments are not allowed. Purchased 1-27-2021.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Upon set up , and after cleaning per instructions, the machine went through the “making ice” mode and then to defrost without making any ice at all. Customer service is of little help and definitely not customer friendly. I had expected so much more. instructions state ice to be made with in 25-30 minutes. 6 hours and counting zero ice. But the defrost cycle works well .

Very expensive for one year of use.

We loved having this machine. Even using filtered water I think it requires cleaning a little too often. Regardless, I have cleaned the machine approximately once every seven to eight days as it would stop making sufficient amounts of ice and spend most of the time defrosting. The biggest problem I have had is the consistent "Add Water" error. Sometimes I would get lucky and a cleaning cycle would clear the issue. Other times it was extremely difficult to get it to work. Now, 1 year and 12 days after purchase it has stopped completely and will not make ice or clear the "Add Water". As much as we loved it I would not recommend the purchase of this item.

Worked for 24 hours then quit

Support is basically a joke. They are very nice, but seem unable/ unwilling to even trouble shoot the device.

Do not buy this

In less than 8 months the Opal Nugget maker stopped making ice and would go from defrost mode to make ice mode and back and forth. Refunds are only given if the machine stops working after 60 days. One year warranty only covers you for a used refurbished replacement. No thanks.

Was good for first 8 months

Ice maker worked fine. Only used distilled water. Kept up regularly with cleaning. One day it went in to defrost and wouldn't cycle back on
. Followed troubleshooting steps but had no luck. Still waiting for Onpoint to reply back for warranty claim. I've only had it 8 months on 12 month warranty. It's going to be very disappointing if they don't repair or replace.

The deposit you've mentioned is only required if you want a replacement unit sent prior to the return of the original unit. To avoid the deposit requirement, please return the unit per the instructions of the warranty center and they will in turn ship you a replacement unit.
