Need software update

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cleaning light continues to flash constantly and I was told that it is a software glitch and there is no scheduled release date. It continues to make ice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to assist with your Opal's sound level. It's very important that you descale your Opal every 2-3 weeks to remove mineral buildup. Only lasted one year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this machine, unfortunately it only last one year before it gave me issues. The ice drawer detached, so the front falls off every time I pull out the drawer.

Waste of money

We purchased the GE 2.0 ice maker 2 years ago. The last 6 months it has had all kinds of issues. It produces very little ice, 20 cubes or less an hour, and constantly says defrosting or cleaning. We have cleaned and maintained it as recommended but this has been a huge waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The good ice no the best ice !

My only mistake was buying a generic one at first only to learn that nothing compares to the ge brand. I decided to spend a little extra and let me tell you this machine is worth every penny. The ice is amazing quality

Third one & broken like the other two

This is the third GE Profile nugget ice maker I have purchased over the last 10 years. It won't work now because it says to add water when it's already there. There has been an issue with each GE Profile nugget I have purchased. I don't know why I keep spending the money but I love the ice it makes!

Great machine

We had an Opal 1.0 for about 5 years. It was critical to keep it cleaned! It made a lot of noise if it got calcified. The 2.0 seems to be quiet and it looks like the design fixed some of the issues with the original. Still the same great crunchy ice!
