Promising, but dead

Worked really well for a while then turned itself into defrost mode and has never come back to normal. I tried unplugging it and all that but it seems to be dead in the water. I had the unit for less than a year.

Constantly had to descale. Stopped working after one descaling and could never recover it. Threw it in the trash. Don’t waste your money.

Loud piece of junk even with frequent cleaning

This product is a very expensive dud. I have followed every instruction to clean. It continually defrosts after making a handful of ice. Sometimes it will work perfectly for a few hours. The online complaints are crazy. I bought because a friend has it and hers works OK. Get a cheap one because it will outcast the opal 2.0. Shame on GE for this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are more than happy to provide guidance with this ice maker. If the icemaker has detected a frozen auger and low ice production the defrosting indicator will light up. The unit will run a rinse cycle to defrost the ice maker and then start making ice again. This is normal. Excellent little ice maker

Great little ice maker. Makes nice small crunchy ice and the light inside makes for a cool glow at night. Love that it keeps the ice after making it and recycles any lost water due to melting. Had a slightly difficult time setting up the connection to WiFi, but the help line was very easy to talk to and responsive.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simple to install. My only wish was that I ordered the bigger side tank. The machine is quiet and produces ice fast!
