Great before the belt goes

If I would have left this review a few weeks ago it would have been five stars but this unit has already started making the screaming belt noise that my old one did after a few years, but it's only been a few months this time.

Absolutely amazing ice....but...

I've had the GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ice Maker for about 6 months now. Although I absolutely love the ice, the unit started making noise (like a screaming banshee!!) after about three months. I have to unplug the unit for a couple of days and restart it. It's fine for a few days and then it starts screaming again after a few days! I'm not sure how I can get a replacement as I can't find information on the website.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My husband was very hesitant on spending the money on this ice maker, but let me tell you. This is the only ice he uses now. He doesn't use the ice from the fridge anymore. This ice maker is a favorite to all of our guests when we have parties. Some of them even eat it by the cup full.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bountiful Nugget Ice in a sleek package

My wife loves this thing. If she could dump me for this thing she would. She trenderly feeds it filtered water and then consumes ice water all day every day. I set it up in the app to create ICE in the morning before she wakes up and to turn off at night. The only time I find it empty is when we have guests over. Installation was super simple. It takes up a ton of space on the countertop but it is well worth the sacrifice. One thing to note is that if it runs extremely low on water it can make enough noise to be distracting.

Great machine with proper care

The ice maker is great. It dose have some quirks to keep it working properly like having to turn it off and back on if it is making slush instead of cubes. We do use filtered water. Regular cleaning keeps it working properly as well (more than most machines). The machine is quiet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but not Great

I love this ice maker it makes just the right amount of Ice for my family of 5. It was easy to set up and easy to fill the water tank. My only issue is that now that I've use it awhile it makes an awful noise when filling up the reservoir.
I would recommend this to a friend!
