Great Ice Maker

This makes the PERFECT ice cubes & fast! The machine is a little noisey when it’s making ice…but it’s not too bad. The cleaning process is very simple (which a huge blessing!) there are some great videos on YouTube that I’ve found helpful!

Good but worth it?

Nice little unit makes great ice. A few days in it randomly starts to make a loud squeaking sound. Sounds like a pump or maybe a belt inside? Anyway, not worth the high price in all honesty.

We'd like to assist you with your Opal. When the Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes. For more information on sounds, you can refer to the article here:

Great Nugget Icemaker

I love the nugget ice. It's just the right size and texture. Makes ice very quickly. The ice stays frozen for a long time. Much longer than I expected since it doesn't keep it frozen. I've only been using it for a month so I can't give a long term evaluation but I am extremely pleased so far.
Only downside is that it was very pricy but it may be worth it in the long run and the need to purchase the scale inhibiting filters or distilled water. Hopefully this product will last us for many years.
