Side Tank Not Filling Machine

The Opal is working fine but the side tank is not. If everything worked, I would give it a 5*. It worked for a few days but then it stopped feeding water into the machine, and it allows the pump to run dry. We just keep having to put water in the machine rather than in the tank.

We'd like to assist you with your Opal side tank. The following tips should enable you to resolve the issue:
- Check that the hoses are connected properly.
- Make sure the hoses are lying flat.
- Lift the tank from the Ice Maker and raise it 4 to 5 inches until water starts to flow; then, place the tank back in position.
If this doesn't help, please call Opal Support at 1-866-907-6718 for further assistance.

Squeals like a bunny!

Though we really like the nugget ice, the constant maintenance is a pain in the you-know-what. After a week of use, the machine started to make a very annoying squeaking sound. So much so, we turned it off and relocated it where it wouldn't be a bother. It sounds like a squealing rabbit! The clean up process is messy and frankly all too often. We have a very expensive water filtration system with the best ratings on the market. We're very happy with our water, so I don't want to hear about our water being too hard. We've even tried purchasing purified water from the store. Nothing works to quiet this down. We've followed the cleaning instructions to a tee and no luck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We want to provide assistance with the squeaking sound on your ice maker. When Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes. Sonic ice at home? GE has your back

Looking for Sonic style ice? Look no further than GE. This ice maker, while a tad pricey, blows the competition away and delivers copious amounts of small nugget ice for your pleasure. 10/10 highly recommend. This is our third one overall two in this house and one I have to my mum

So far so good, making the ice we love. Our opal 1 quit working after 14 months so we decided to upgrade to this one and bought extended warranty just in case.

This is a great ice maker. I tried its competitors, but this ice maker is by far the best one. It feels much better built than others and is a solid choice. Only thing I don’t like is the color. When I got this one I didn’t know it came in other colors.
