Buggy
on May 22, 2025

When it works, I love it, but the machine is "buggy", meaning it will say add water when the water tank is full, and quit making ice.

Investigate Before Purchase

I love the ice maker except when I have to clean it. Very time consuming , instructions are confusing wish I would have talked to people that own this before I purchased it. It might have changed my mind.

Keeping this icemaker clean is imperative to the production of ice in this unit. We have provided some cleaning instructions for this icemaker here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=000062600

GE should cover the problem
on May 27, 2025

I would love to be compensated for my first machine. Didn’t even last two years and the motor quit. Always cleaned it. Always changed the filter. I bought another one because of how well it kept ice and how well it made ice. I bought the warranty this time. I just wish GE would make it right. A 700 dollar machine shouldn’t quit in less than two years.

Problem already

Every time it starts to make another batch of ice, water pours in from the top of the bin which starts to melt the ice already produced. Just got it today. Not sure what is wrong!

This is normal operation for this nugget ice maker. Water continually flows during the initial startup of the machine before ice production begins or any time after a defrost cycle is completed before ice production resumes. This water flows from the top back inside the cavity into the bin and along the back wall of the inside. Water will also flow if the unit is undergoing a clean cycle to remove mineral buildup or to sanitize.

The loud scraping noise all day is ridiculous. I used for 2 days hoping the sound would go away it didnt. So its been unplugged and unsused. And it barely put out any ice.

We're sorry to hear about your icemaker not producing any ice. We'd like to help with this.

We recommend trying to reset your icemaker by unplugging the power cord for 3-4 hours, then plugging it back in. We also recommend cleaning the whole unit, including the bin and tray. This can help with the sounds as well. You can find instructions on page 8 and 7 inside the user manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--5xxXyJkk--/a656dd8264a1786411b2865c10956f3e46f3598f.pdf

In the meantime, we will be reaching out over email to collect additional information. Please respond at your earliest convenience.
