Stay away.

This thing is nice when it works. Be warned. It will break down. Requires constant maintenance. We had multiple replacements sent when it was under warranty only to come across some new issue.

I love this Ice Maker, but can't seem to find the small cat stuck in the gears of the machine! What a noise every now and then (of course)!

Poor quality and unrepairable

Do not buy this machine. We had one less than a year when it started to flash add water to a full machine. We contacted GE did all the tricks they said to do which did not work. We were sent another machine which was nice but that machine started to do the same thing as the other. Contacted GE once again but at that time it had been 2 months over the 1 year original purchase date and warranty was no longer good. I was instructed parts for these machines do not exist and was offered a discount on my next GE purchase. Poor quality and unable to be repaired. A lot of money for something that did not work more than 1 year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product - There are some flaws

I love the ice it makes, and it takes about 2 hours or so to make a good amount of ice. The ice maker is for a family of 2, plenty of ice and never ran out of ice between 2 people, even when we use large 40oz containers.
There are a few flaws, cleaning is not that easy. I wish the cleaning is easier or have less things to clean. The second is, you can't connect a water line to this. For something that I need to refill twice a week, I'm willing to split off the fridge line to this ice maker. Especially, I don't use the fridge to make ice any more. The noise is a bit annoying if you're in the same room or the next. But it's fine. Last gripe about this, water drips once you open door to get ice out. The tray it comes with does catches it.
With the flaws, it's still a very good ice maker. One thing you should consider is to use filtered water and not use tap water. Tap water (depending where you live), it could make you clean this more often. Leaving hard water in the lines are very hard to clean. I don't use the GE filter because it didn't seem like it would be as good as my own water filter.
The price is a bit high for a "ice maker" but if you like the nugget ice, or like chomping on ice and you got the money for it. This one is legit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As for the leaks, this can be normal to notice. During normal operation, condensation forms on the bottom surface of the ice bin.

Side tank should be bigger-love the nuggets size!

Wish the side tank was bigger, refill often with a family of 4. Wish it had a place to hang the scoop on the side to keep it off the front tray. Makes ice quick and love the size of the nuggets!

This product is absolute garbage. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I have had it less than 2 years and it makes a horrible grinding noise that sounds like it’s about to blow up. I have to unplug it . Once I plug it back in the machine works fine for a few hours and
then the grinding noise comes back. I love the ice but hate the machine.
