Breaks down too expensive for this

Do not buy this. It makes the worst squeaking/roaring sound for no apparent reason.
Cleaned it a hundred times. Replaced hoses and the little filter in the base.
Hopefully a refund or replacement will change my mind.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Constant Squeaking

This is an unbelievably loud appliance. The cooling fan squeaks constantly. I also have a GE Refrigerator that has be repaired 3 times within last 5 years. Always something different. GE no longer has any quality!’

Great ice. Other than that. It’s a junk . won’t stop making a loud noise. Called told us how to properly clean done that multiple times still makes the noise. Won’t replace it they wanna send some random to the house to “try n fix it”

Not worth the Cost

Love the product ,when it’s working. It will only last 6 months to a year. They can’t get parts for it to be fixed. I have went through 3 in the last 2 years.

The ice is amazing. The machine makes so much noise we can hear it upstairs with our bedroom door closed. I bought this on the 19th of October 2024 and returning tomorrow. The machine is so loud it woke my kids up. It sounds like belts/bearings grinding together. If I could give it 0stars I would. This is the 2nd opal in the last month. As much as my family loves the ice we will never buy another GE product ever again.

I really love my ice machine. This is my fourth one. I clean it faithfully and make sure to use distilled water. Unfortunately, they don’t last long. I just got my 4th one and I got it because my other one died in less than a yr and it was under warranty. The other one before that one lasted about four yrs. You have to clean it religiously. If you’re lazy then forget it. This is not for you. It’s just like any equipment. You have to take care of it.

Was an amazing ice machine for 2 years then the auger stopped working and froze and split the aluminum housing wish you could buy parts to fix it 🤦🏻♂️
