So far I am enjoying said product. GE is the epitome of American innovation. The Opal Nugget 2.0 ice maker product supported my little get together with ice to spare. I am happy because the wife is happy. Ice cold cocktails shaken and stirred. God Bless GE, God Bless America 🇺🇸!

Previously had same unit but suffered the effects of hard water. Tried 2 others that lasted half as long even with frequent descaling and ice was not the same quality and consistency.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Ice, Not A Great Machine

The ice is terrific. The machine is problematic. We're on our second Opal 2. The first leaked all over the counter. We thought we were filling it wrong - turned out to be a "known issue," and GE replaced it. Machine number two also makes fantastic ice, but it sounds like an 80-year-old standing up. It creaks, groans, squeaks and wheezes. If you're going to have this prominently placed on a bar or open kitchen, know that it's definitely a quiet machine. All that said - the ice is so good we bought an Opal for the in-laws. Theirs makes a grinding noise and was also replaced.

Great product, amazing ice!

This is an absolutely fantastic product. The side tank is a great addition. I only need to refill it once or twice a week, max. The ice is very light and crunchy. The pieces don’t freeze to each other in the bin, they’re very easy to scoop. It makes a solid amount of ice per hour. I like putting drink mix on some ice and mixing it very well so the flavor gets on all the ice. It makes a really refreshing, cold treat. I’m giving 4 stars because I don’t love the scheduling part of the app. I thought that the schedule could determine when the machine automatically makes ice or not, so I created a schedule where the machine was off for one day. When I came back, all the ice was melted, the bin was totally empty, and I realized that the scheduling was actually just programming when to turn the machine on and off. There should be an option to turn “off” the automatic ice making without actually turning off the power and losing all the ice.

So far so good! I work in hospital and this ice is 100 times better ! I was a little impatient for it to start making ice but it started making the best ice before i even knew it.
