Noise Maker

I ordered the Opal Ice Maker in May/June. 10 minutes after starting the ice making process the machine began to make this loud noise. It makes the noise for as long as it is performing the ice making function. The noise was tolerable in the beginning but now i can only set the ice making function for when I’m not home. I love the machine but could really do without the, as my daughter calls it, the jackhammer noise.
I never complained because i feel it would have been more of a hassle to return the product since it was shipped to my home and not purchased at a brick and mortar. But now the noise is just unbearable.

Great ice but something is just wrong w the design

I love the product. This is my second one. The first lasted just one year but I had not cleaned it as often as recommended so I took ownership of that and just replaced it. This new one has been about 4 months and it has grinded and moaned and made terrible noises since it was about 2 months old. I clean it often but the loud noise is horrific
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I do believe this ice maker far exceeds the amount of ice as advertised. We use ours all day and nights. Much quieter that my first ice maker.

Great ice maker. I love the scheduling function. It’s great that you can dictate when ice is produced, and when it’s in idle mode. This helps save water, especially if you’re using spring water

Amazing ice but we went through 2 models until we landed on the current version. One made the most unbelievable noises and the 2nd poured water out of the bottom. Thankfully the replacement process was pretty quick and straightforward

Model was a warranty replacement for a discontinued model, it produces ice much faster than the old one, and the control system is easier. Only negative is the side tank is a lot smaller, resulting in more refilling
