Hate to not love it

Loved it at first!! Used it daily until about a week ago completely stopped making ice. Cleaned again as instructed and still no ice. For the $$ this cost, it should last longer in my opinion. Would only recommend if it was 1/5

Not at all happy with this product.

The ice maker ran for about two months. It then started to make squeaking noises. We cleaned it. We defrosted it. Nothing seemed to work. Finally it we into defrost mode and would not produce ice, no matter what we did. By the way, we never used tap water. We use distilled water.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We want to help go over the sounds that you were noticing. When an Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes. If you are still not seeing ice production after this, we suggest unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

After great ice making for about 2 years, the unit started squealing and turning off the ice making function due to overheating, i think. So it's now useless. Are there parts we can buy to replace?

Slow Ice Production

The promo says that this ice maker would produce 3 lbs. of ice in 20 minutes. I ran it for 8 hours and never got close to 3 lbs. of ice.
