GE Portable Ice Maker, supplies great size ice

The ice maker works fine, but when you open the bin to get ice out, water leaks upon a black shiny piece of plastic. I wouldn't expect it to leak, but the way it is designed right now, I'm sure that there is no other way. Maybe a new design in the future.

Perfect nugget ice

So far so good but have only had for about three weeks. I love the ice it makes but I’m a little worried about how some people say it will only last a few months or a year or two at the most. I should’ve gotten an extended warranty. But I’m only using distilled water and I plan to sanitize it next week for the first time after the initial cleaning. My purchase included the side tank but I found, so far, that I did not really need it although it worked perfectly, however, l’m glad I have it and may reattach it eventually. I like the looks of the machine but it is a little loud but it doesn’t run all the time. Our kitchen and living room and dining room are all in one big room so the low hum can be noticeable at times.
I would recommend this to a friend!
