Makes Grinding Noise and waiting on REPLACEMENT

It worked the first 8 months then it began making a horrible grinding noise. We called GE customer support for the Opal machine and we've been waiting for a replacement refurbished machine since 8/26/2023. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!

This is my second GE nugget ice maker. My previous one lasted about 3 years. Admittedly I did not keep up with the maintenance. Did I want to spend this much on an ice maker, no. Is my family hooked on this ice? Yes.
I will be cleaning and descaling this one regularly to protect the investment.

We have loved our new Opal Ice maker. The size of ice is perfect! It is quick to make ice. We find ourselves using it over the ice from our refrigerator. Easy to maintain too!

Not working properly, makes ice when it wants to.

I don’t know why it stops making ice and it says add water when it has a full tank of water it is so sad when it was working it was amazing but now it makes ice whenever it wants

Great ice maker!

We've had this ice maker for a little more than a month and we love it. It is quick to make ice, easy to clean and having the side water resevior keeps ice at the ready. It is a low maintenance machine which we love with our busy schedules.
