Im thrifty. Did a bunch of research about "pellet" ice makers, before buying this one. It's been flawless so far in delivering the ice. I also love the app so i can schedule the ice production around my work. Super quiet operation.

I Love My Opal!!

I was a little unsure which way to go with a countertop ice machine.
There are several options.
After reading about as many as I could find and features of them, I went with the Opal.
I actually went with the appearance initially. I did not want something on the countertop that was unattractive.
The Opal is so beautiful.
As far as the practical side of things, the Opal makes wonderful ice, it's easy to set up, operate and maintain
I can't say enough nice things about it.
I really love it and would purchase her all over again.

Perfect nugget ice

Love the soft chewable nugget ice! Makes ice quickly, easy to clean, not too loud. Glad the drip pan catches the water drips when you open to get ice out. I did upgrade to a magnetic scoop that will stick to wide of machine.

Love The Ice, Not the WiFi

This ice is absolutely awesome. It's crunchy and perfect every time! I was excited about the WiFi since I have a very robust smart home environment. This only uses 2.6Ghz and frequently disappears and is really hit and miss when reconnecting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This thing is really amazing. You have to make sure you follow cleaning instructions and make sure you clean the fan and it will last forever. I really wish it had a hard plumb option without having to modify the side tank. I really hope GE gets that in the works!

We love our new Opal Icemaker. It was very east to set up and makes great ice! We wanted nugget ice for a long time but didn't want to purchase one of the big undercounter ice makers. The size is perfect on our counter and looks great next to our GE Monogram side by side refrigerator and other GE appliances.
