I purchased this and the grinding and squealing sounds it made are awful. Way to expensive to be making these sounds.

Not worth the cost

Well this thing was cool gimmick and crazy expensive. That being said it makes ice really fast and they are the nugget size for ice. Had the ice maker for 1 week before it started making some moaning sounds. Made sure the unit was level on counter thinking maybe it was just me. Fast forward a few days and the sound has got so bad and loud that the only way to make it stop was to unplug the maker. Thought that the noise would go away but it never did. Also side note this thing is way bigger that I thought it would be. Well after 2 weeks I had to return it because the noise happened within 20 min of being on and would not stop and kept getting worse. When I took it back the guy at the counter knew exactly what I was describing and almost seamed like it was a common issue. Also there was no other units to replace my unit with from the store. So I would say save some money and use the ice trays or get cups of ice from local restaurants and save time, space and most of all MONEY!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked for about 1 1/2 months then Eternal Defrost

After about a month and a half of working fine the ice maker went into Defrosting mode and hasn't made ice since. Attempted to clean it multiple times, but alas, when we turn it back on it cycles back and forth from Making Ice to Defrosting about every 20 minutes and has never made ice again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you want to never sleep again…

This ice maker works great for about 3 months. Then it starts sounding like a dying cat. Then it sounds like a construction crew outside your house. Then it sounds like a construction crew inside your house. I’ve already replaced under warranty once thinking I had bad luck because it is so highly rated, but the replacement does the same thing. A quick look at the 1 star reviews left confirms my complaints.

Loved it until I had to let it go.

Ice maker was expensive and the family LOVED it for the 1st few weeks. It started to make noises when making ice and we cleaned the system several times. One of which we allowed it to soak and run vinegar. The noise grew and grew until we couldn’t take it anymore. We returned it and purchased a significantly cheaper one to try our luck again since peer reviews validated my issues with brand/model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You'll love this ice maker

I was hesitant to purchase this ice maker due to the price. I finally did purchase it and boy am I glad I did. This ice maker produces the great nugget ice like you get at restaurants and it sits on your counter. It is a lot quieter than the other I had and makes a lot of ice.
