Avoid this machine! Trash.

Worked exactly one month. Only used distilled water and followed weekly sanitizer instructions.
Now it constantly says “add water” even though its is full. So disappointing for an item at this price level.

Noisy machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice maker made good ice which made me drink more liquids which was the goal. It’s heavy and the cleaning and emptying the tanks was very difficult. The unit quit working (drawing water) so that was bad. Then recently it started to make a very loud squealing noise, the main and side tank were full of water. So looked at the trouble shooting in the directions no help.

Loved it until it stopped working

It stopped working and warranty had expired. Had it for a year and a half . Took the back off to try and repair and noticed the metal was tore up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Restaurant style ice

I’m LOVING this ice maker. It was easy to setup and quickly started making ice. Yes you can hear the machine running but it’s not very loud to be to distracting. It is more like a humming noise then stops when the bin is full.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Counter Top Ice Maker!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time owning a counter top ice maker unit. This GE Profile ice maker seems to be a really great ice maker!! Once you get it out of the box , you have all you need to set it up which also includes the instruction manual. A drip tray and scoop are also included. Follow the instruction to clean it before using it. This is self cleaning. Put it in self clean mode and it will go through the whole system with water to make sure all is cleaned properly. When it finishes the cleaning cycle, Unplug the unit, detach the hose and let drain in the sink. Its just that easy. Simple to operate yet very modern looking. It has some heft to it. No sliding around on the counter. Very stable. No raised buttons to work with. Light pressure touches gets it going. This unit comes is almost 17 inches in height so be sure you have the height room before making the purchase. Once set up, it starts to make ice pellets within 7-10 minutes which is remarkably fast! After the first drop of ice pellets, it continues do so every few seconds with another drop of pellets. I equate the size of the ice to the size of a gum drop. You can chew the ice easily. This would be amazing to use for a party when serving drinks without having to worry about running out of ice as it is continuously making ice with a side tank to help with volume if needed and great to have for everyday usage as well. This has a home on my counter top just like my tea kettle and coffee maker and is being used daily to keep our drinks cold in these hot Summer months!! BTW, this is also a "smart" appliance and allows for app connectivity . This feature is not something that I would personally use BUT it's available for those who like to operate and control appliances via smart phones.

No more cracked teeth!

This is pellet ice that is easy to chew. A commercial machine will set you back 2 grand plus to get this kind of ice. This is a great purchase for chronic ice chewers such as my self. It looks good on the counter and keeping it filled and clean has been easy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As always I love the ice this machine makes. The issue has always been dependably. The 2.0 version seems better after 1 month of use. Let's hope they have this figured out.

Perfect nugget ice

Smart design, stylish appearance, and perfect nugget ice. I used to buy ice from Sonic before I splurged on this ice maker. What I didn't realize is that freshly-made nugget ice has the perfect "chew", far superior to re-frozen Sonic ice. I'm happy and hydrated.
