Very Noisy! Would not recommend

Bought this since the family wanted pebble ice. Would not buy this again. In about a month the unit is so noisy that you have to unplug it at night. It makes squealing noises that are so loud, you cannot even watch TV over the noise. It will absolutely wake you up during the night while you are sleeping.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This ice maker makes that *good* ice. Love the auto features so that I never have to tell it to make more ice. The auto clean feature is great as well.

Opal with side tank

We had a version 1 for 6+ years and it worked great. It finally stopped working and we decided to buy the new version with the side tank. We are extremely happy that our first one lasted as long as it did and really like to newer version. The side tank is very handy.

We really have enjoy having the little ice cubes. The only thing is having to cleaning it every two months or every months... Takes time, but again it's a on the counter icemaker.
