Great ice, requires some work

Product makes great ice but does have some issues with pulling water from the side tank. Cleaning can also be time consuming. Being able to schedule operation times is a great plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my second GE ice maker. First one motor went out after 2.5 years but I had a warranty so it got replaced so this is number 2. With 5 people in the house it gets used a lot
I would recommend this to a friend!

The entire family LOVES this ice maker.
On the way home the twins say mom cut the ice machine on so it’s ready when we get home.
My partner even broke down and joint the family in ice love for the special grownups drinks but the best of all we take about 3 cups and put it in the dog bowl. Life will never be the same.

Wish it was better

I was excited to use this item. It worked great for about 4 weeks. Soon after it started making an awful noise. I did the suggested descaling and cleaning at about week three. at about 4 weeks, it started making an awful noise. After researching how to remedy, I discovered hundreds of other reviews of people having the same issues. I didn't want to deal with it long term so I returned the machine. This was the top rated ice maker on Consumer Reports but I'm not sure why with so many people having issues with them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
