Not reliable. Makes ice for 45 minutes then makes a bad sound. Unplug and repeat. Just sits most of the time because of this

Best nugget ice ever❤️

I researched lots of ice makers, and the GE Profile kept coming up every time, number one. It is the best nugget ice I have ever had!!!! It's better than the fountain drinks in the store. The ice maker was easy to set up and easy to clean. I'm a 71 yr old lady and I did it with no help. I have 3 glasses a day, and I will be having more in the summer. It was sooooo worth it!!!!! I have wanted one for years. I love it❤️

Stopped working

Haven’t even had it a year and it stopped working. Downloaded the app and tried to “schedule service” but it just directs me to an (800) number. It keeps saying “add water” when it has water, tried cleaning, descaling, troubleshooting everything I’ve read. Expensive junk. When it did work, it was very loud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great with Distilled Water

The reason I wrote this review is that I wish I had known this particular issue prior to using the machine initially: our hard water jammed the machine. The first week we had the ice maker, it kept “defrosting” constantly. I followed the instructions for cleaning out the machine by using vinegar water, running the cleaning cycle, then sticking a towel in the machine for 24 hours. It cleaned everything out, however my guess that the jamming was due to our hard water was correct. We used distilled water and have had zero problems in the several months since. As a matter of fact, the machine has not “defrosted” a single time since switching to distilled water. The ice separates easily as well (with our hard water, the ice cubes would stick together). Lastly, I highly recommend getting the machine with the side water tank. Filling up the side tank is so much easier to accomplish rather than pulling up on the front slot, pulling out the tub, filling the reservoir inside the machine up to the line, then putting the tub in (there’s a special way to do it so it won’t just fall out when you open the machine to take out ice). The side tank just needs to be pulled off, flipped around, remove the lid, fill to the top, replace lid, and put back on. This only needs to be done twice a week, and can be monitored since it’s clear and the water line is visible. The machine’s reservoir is hidden underneath the tub of ice, so I would need to wait until “add water” lights up on the machine. The side tank is much larger than the internal reservoir, so it doesn’t need to be filled near as often which I like.

Save your money!

This has been the most expensive hunk of junk I've ever purchased. Save your money- the time starting and stopping, the amount of maintenance it requires and the sound of the machine disturbing my entire household is ridiculous.

Easy setup and making ice nuggets quickly

We have only had the product installed for less than a week but first impressions are good. The ice nuggets are superb and quick to cool the beverage. I am a bit concerned about the need to sanitize and descale the ice maker on a frequent schedule. We wiil sanitize once a week descale every two weeks. The ice maker has to be shutdown for more than 18 hours during the descaling process. Otherwise, we are very pleased with the ice maker.
