It makes ice but…

The container that holds the ice leaks water whenever I open it to get ice out. It’s also much louder than I expected. And it seems like there may not be an airtight fit bc sometimes the ice is a little flaky, like it has freezer burn.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Ice Maker

Love the ice nuggets. Unit works well. It makes a little noise but not too much.
Love programming it to turn on a make ice for 2 hours every night.

Great improvements from the first generation

I had the original Opal and it unfortunately but the dust after several years of everyday use. The family loves the ice so much we immediately went out and purchased the Opal 2.0 and we couldn’t be happier. Some very nice updates to the ice bin itself (stopper for the bin when you pull it out) and the additional buttons/notifications are great along with the 3 lighting options. You’ve got a fam for life!

This ice maker is totally chill. I have to stay on top of my kids as they are constantly digging in the ice tray for a quick cool refresher. We are very pleased with this machine.
