So far so good, perfect little chips, purified water used easy to fill. It’s big so make sure you have space and don’t put it under any counter lights plastic can melt.

I have had my unit for about a month. Ok first thing I noticed is that as it sits overnight and ice starts to melt it will not automatically restart on its own to fill up again. Yes with the app you can set it up to start at whatever time you want. But let’s say I schedule it to start back up at 7 am then it will start and fill back up but it will not restart again if I’ve level goes back down. Second dislike. Having water tank full of water it sometimes still runs out of water inside the machine like it’s out of water even though tank is full. I have to manually put water inside the unit so it can start making ice again. Then after that it will pull water from tank and keep making ice. Why it does this I don’t know. I have removed hose from back of tank and re installed then it starts pulling water. Like it gets air in the system. I never let it run out of water. At about halfway I refill so it doesn’t get air in system but it still does this. Not sure why. Also I only use distilled water so it will last longer due to high minerals in water. Other than that its great. I just feel it should restart on its own anytime ice level drops like a regular ice maker does. And it should not run out of water inside unit if tank is always kept full. Maybe a stronger pump.

Bought this for my wife and she loves it. Uses it everyday multiple times a day and will now not drink a beverage without the nugget ice.

I love the ice! But…..

The ice is exactly what I wanted and it is plentiful!
Mine does not have the side water bottle and I will likely add it as I run out of water often.
The only complaints keeping it from being a 5 star are:
1) it dribbles a lot of water as I scoop ice and needs to wiped and mopped up!
2) it is louder than I had hoped!
3) it is super heavy and awkward to maneuver for the recommended weekly cleanings!
Mine does not have the side water bottle and I will likely add it as I run out of water often.

I got this for Christmas. It makes ice pretty fast. You can set up the time for it to make it every day. I love everything about this icemaker.

Squeals very loudly

With that being said, we understand that some of the noises that are heard when an appliance is in use can be loud, and definitely be an annoyance.
However, squeaking and squealing are normal operating noises that you may hear. When Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes.
If the Ice Maker is making a continuous grinding noise, this is not normal. If it is doing this, please contact Opal Support at 1-866-907-6718, M-F 8-8 EST.
