Makes great ice, BUT....

I bought it October 23, 2022. The appliance makes great ice and makes it rather quickly, but.... it's too noisy! I have to jamb a cloth between it and the wall to keep it from vibrating/resonating loudly enough that I want to turn it off. The side of the cabinet isn't stiff enough not to vibrate. On top of that, the light burned out and owner's manual says replacement of light bulbs not covered under the manufacturer's warranty!! On top of that, it will no longer follow an off/on schedule set up thru the app and app says machine needs to be descaled even though it's just been cleaned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We've had to replace our ice makers 5 times now in the last 6 years. The first 2 were the 1.0 model, each lasting over one year. Customer service, I'm grateful, usually responds in a timely manner. The third was replaced with the 2.0, which lasted almost a year initially; the last 2 didnt make it 2 days before it started making loud noises. We're trying to hang in there Opal but it's a hassle having to keep returning these. My suggestion, re-engineer the motors, pumps, and so on. They are NOT working as they should from the get go and these are New, not rebuilt replacements. How is it they are getting worse instead of better? Find out where the ball is being dropped and fix it, Please! Good luck!

We love the are new nugget ice maker we use it everyday!
It looks super nice and makes great ice! But it started leaking water under it almost every day…
If it did not leak we would recommend this to everyone.

During normal operation, condensation forms on the bottom surface of the ice bin. This water will sometimes collect and drip down the lower front surfaces of the ice maker. The included drip tray can be installed in front of the Opal to collect this water.
If you feel that is it not what was mentioned above, we recommend contacting Opal at myopalservice.com, or you can also contact 1-866-907-6718, M-F 8-8 EST, to possibly have the unit replaced.

The best nugget ice

I love everything about my ice machine! Best ice ever. Not loud. Doesn’t take up too much space. Is super fast at making ice. Took my drinks to the next level. Only bummer is when I got it- it had a dent/huge bulge on the bottom right side of the machine. Probably someone was rough with it in shipping which is a bummer when you spend that kind of money on a machine. But the machine works well and the dent seems to be purely cosmetic which is a relief. I did have massive issues with amazons shipping also. It was a nightmare getting this machine!
