I haven't had the 2.0 very long so I can't give a genuine review, I have owned the profile original. It grew algae inside the water lines not sure how. It was always on always making ice, it lasted 5 years, my wife absolutely loves it so I git her another one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love love my opal 2.0 this is my second I bought the first one in 2017 and used the heck out of it ,when this model came out with the side tank I decided to get it and I love it . I can't live with out this ice .

Although setup is a bit involved, knowing that it assures clean & safe ice makes it worth the effort. We use distilled water since our well water is very hard & the resulting ice is great!!! Hoping that it continues to operate at this level for a long time. The app is helpful but not a lot of features - but there really isn’t much to operate. Highly recommend.
