Worked good for 6 months and then stopped working. It is not very quiet.

I really *want* to love this ice maker

The ice is great. The machine is apparently not. I got this neeer model after repeated problems with the older model developing a UV sanitation problem. Within a month or two the new one started to say “add water” when the water reservoir is full…I keep resetting/priming the pump. But it just repeats the problem over and over. .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this except for the noise!!

We love everything about this ice maker except the horrible shrieking noise it makes, no matter if it’s been off, just cleaned, etc. it’s horrible.

Hello, We appreciate you taking the time to contact us. We are glad you are loving your icemaker but are sorry about the noise. We were able to find in the use and care manual on page 13 that one of the normal sounds you may hear is when the opal is in need of defrosting it may squeak as the ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take up to 30-45 min. During this time, the front button wont respond. More frequent squeaking usually requires white vinegar cleaning to remove internal mineral scale build up.
