Started making a weird noise early on

It started to make a weird noise early on, and we've been emailing back and forth with support and it's been an arduous process. I wouldn't get this model for sure again. Great idea. Great ice...when it makes and you aren't the laughing stock when everyone hears it sounds like a diesel engine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Concept..Cafe Version Please

Wonderful ice, noisy machine

I love this ice maker. Small ice that’s easy to chew- my dog loves it and demands pieces when I’m refreshing my drink. Only downside is it became loud after a couple of months due to vibration. If I hold the sides of the maker it’s as quiet as ever, but dang it makes a racket now.

Won’t work after a few months

It worked great for about two months and then started making loud noises and having issues. We’ve done all the maintenance and now it’s a huge paper weight on the counter while I attempt to get support to respond to my repeated emails.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sad, we needed to replace our first one. But, we did buy the same thing again. We use it extremely hard in a camping environment, so it survived longer than any other ice maker we've owned. Highly, highly recommend!

I love the ice that the Opal makes. I love the tank that I can fill with distilled water so that my ice is always pure. This has made me an ice snob! I take my iced water to work with me every day in an insulated 40 ounce bottle so I always have cold water the way I want it.
